Still havent gone to the gym

Ive had my teeth half fixed but they are still tender so i still havent gone to the gym, ive been eating healthy and im still doing cardio. In fact, i’m about to go for a run now :D

Some Friday gym fun

So i got back to they gym today and i had a good workout. I thought it was gunna be a waste of time as i was having one of those day; it tooke me about 30 minutes to find my car keys and gym card :s However, i got to they gym and despite it being quite busy, there was one free bench, my luck was changing. I sat down and grabbed my weights and then after staring at someone for what must have been ten minutes, i realised who this person was. It was a guy i went to school with, i saw him last year and he must have been weighing in at about 21 stone but since then, he must have got down to an easy 12 stone and he is looking good, it really suits him. This was huge motivation to me as it showed with hard work come good results.

Well anyway it was a shouder and tri’s day for me. My routine was:

Arnold Press 3×9

lateral raises 3×8

cable pulls 2×12

skull crushers 3×8

close grip bench press 4×7

dips 2xfailure

My workout was awesome and im still feeling a great pump now. My lifts were all heavy and i feel like i could have used bigger weights, not really sure why i didn’t to be honest. Im gunna make sure that if i go out tonight im not gunna booze heavy as i dont want to ruin the gains.

Something that i forgot to add is that shoulders really arent my favorite workout. I think my shoulders are probably my most impressive body part in terms of size so as a result i see them as a benchmark. For a while i haven’t really focused on improving them as they just seem to grow effortlesly so ive been trying to get my other body parts up to par with them; therefore i havent really got any motivation to push them harder….

Its almost Friday!! :D

Well i’m quite proud of myself today; despite the fact that i missed the gym today. For the first time in a while, the God’s switched off the tap and the sun shined proudly and strongly on Wales. As a result i thought i’d better take the chance and mow the lawn because to be honest, it was a state. I have a huge lawn so doing this was quite an effort so i managed to burn some calories and i’ve just came back from a run. I usually run about 2  and a half miles but some of that is sprints and hill sprints so i walk a bit of it aswell. Im quite happy with the run as my legs aren’t to sore so my legs must be adapting to the heavy workload in the gym again which is always a benefit. My legs felt powerful during the sprints and i can feel some of my explosion coming back. I will deffinetly be in the gym tomorrow as otherwise im gunna mess up my routinee badly.

I’ve started to notice that my back is lagging a bit. My lats are quite wide but they arent all to thick. My traps are looking decent from the back view as well as the front so im not worried about them, its mainly just the lats. Think i might start putting more intensity into my back workouts from now on.

A bad day

Well today sucked in terms of staying healthy and getting myself into shape. I havent been to the gym (today is my designated rest day because of the legs yesterday) and i have eat total crap. I had a high protein dinner which was pretty good for me but ive been picking the rest of the day. I even went to my buddies house to have some beers and play X-box. I’d better work my ass off tomorrow; i think a run and gym session is in order, shoulders and tris tomorrow :D

Getting this thing started

I think this will be better for than a journal cos i get lazy with journals and never post in them. Well my main aim is to get into shape for sport. I blew out my knee a while back and its finally recovered fully (fingers crossed) so i can start to train my legs better. So to get to the training. I went to the gym earlier today and trained my legs as they are severely lacking in strength compared to my upper body due to the injury. I think my upperbody strength comes from my triceps mainly as all my pushing and extending movements seem to be my positives. Its only been within the last few weeks when ive been able to do deadlift for the 1st time in a LONG time! So now im getting addicted to them :p

For my training earlier i started off with the standard DL’s and managed 3 sets and then hit 2 stes of straight leg deads; next was 3 sets of lunges, then some leg curls, leg extensions and in a few days ill train legs again using squats as my main lift insted of deads, trying to pack on as much leg mass as i can before the new season…
