Ramblings

It’s been yoga the last 2 nights and I have to say I’m loving it. My weight lifting had come to a point where I was just going through the motions. I wasn’t thinking about my muscles as I was lifting, the only thing I really wanted to do was just get it done and go home. So needless to say, yoga has been a real treat. A nice way to get back that mind body connection I’ve been missing out on. I’ve lost a lot of flexibility since the old yoga days but I felt so good afterwards. The first night my butt and hips were cramping every time I had to turn out my hips but last night wasn’t as bad. I was able to open up much more. I’m just going to skip the gym the rest of the week and continue the yoga. I’ll be back at the gym next week but definately want to keep the yoga in.

My calories have been insanely low this last week. I usually don’t keep track of them too much since I eat about the same everyday but this past week I’ve been tracking almost everything…….not good. I’ve lost a pound but I’m sure it’ll be back next week. I haven’t been able to stay in the 120 range for more than 2 days and I’m on day 3 right now. We’ll see. Another reason why I’m not hitting the gym this week…calories too low but it’s perfect for yoga.

So the grinch in me is officially gone. Last night I went out and bought a Christmas tree. I haven’t bought a tree in quite a few years…3-4? I know, horrible but I’ve been so depressed the last few years and one year I wasn’t working so I asked my son if he wanted a tree or presents…guess which won. Since then I’ve been finding every excuse not to buy one. No more, this year even with it’s ups and downs has been good. I have nothing to complain about and I’m tired of being doom and gloom. So last night I put up that tree with the lights and trimmings……..ok, it’s no Macy’s tree but it’ll do the trick.

awe that is awesome. I too have been a grinch this year. I am currently cleaning and getting the spot ready for the tree today. Looks like we are both in the same place. Good job with Yoga. I want to try yoga some time soon

What type of yoga are you doing? I’m considering putting that into my routine, but there’s like a trillion to choose from! I’m glad you’re digging it and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!! :)

I practice Iyengar. There are a lot of good videos out there. Look for one’s that have sections so you can break it up, especially if your anything like me. Short attention span and can’t sit still for more than 20 minutes.
