Tired? Burned out? Plateau?

I don’t know what it is lately. I’ve been tired and haven’t had much motivation lately. I’m not seeing any results with what I’m doing although I’ve changed it up. I’ve tried eating more, I’ve tried eating less. Things are just at a standstill. I’ve cut down on the sweets (cookies) and still nothing. Ever since I’ve turn 36 my metabolism has just come to a halt. Too much carbs? Not enough carbs? I don’t know.

Nothing spells burnout more clearly than stagnation. Taka break from everything you have been doing and shake the routine up: Do 100 yard sprints at the local track 3 days a week, do bleacher runs at the High School football stadium, install a pull-up bar in between one of your doors and do as many as you can whenever you are near that door, set a new personal record for most jumping jacks in one session, etc, etc, etc. Once you have experienced the joy of working your body in a differnet way, you’ll be ready to hit the weights again with child-like enthusiasm…trust me: I go through the same thing roughly every three years…..

Have you been getting enough rest? Bodyauditors suggestions are sound. Good luck disrupting your routine, and breaking out of your funk.

Does your gym have a pool or is one available somewhere to use? Try that out for a week or two to change things up, then come back to the weights. Always worked for me.

Diet’s hard to go on unless you’re eating basically the same thing daily to know what’s working and what isn’t… You know, the C5 crew I’m sure would have no problem putting together a diet idea for you, and I’d even help out and put a touch of cookie joy in it, too! ^_^

aww now that is a hard one to refuse. trixters offer .yah i hear yah. I think it is just the season. But i think you would feel better just keeping on one day at a time. Maybe that is the point of breaking through the plateau… ,,,be easy and keep on going tomorrow you will feel differently. I hear yah as i struggle with it also..no changes working hard and the scale never drops to far below the weight i have maintained for years,
