Legs and Back

Tuesday I hit legs. Started warming up with just the bar and squats. Monday (yes, that’s her name) came by to give me shit saying I needed to add weights to it. And of course Roger was sitting there watching me and laughing (her trainer, Monday’s a power lifter and my motivation). I instead of throwing on my usual dimes I threw on some quarters. I’ve been going light weight higher reps and was planning on doing the same this week. I was only able to get 8 reps out, for some reason it felt really heavy. So my workout was 3 sets with 6-10 reps. I was able to hit the leg press again with up to 3 plates and it didn’t bother my back so I’ll be using that again. I was really quite happy. So leg workout was heavier weights, less reps. I noticed when I got in the shower that night that I had broken blood vessels going across my shoulders. I’ve never had that before. Hhmm.

Back was last night and I went back to my 4 sets, 12 reps and I was able to use a decent weight. Not too light, not too heavy. Just enough to really make me work for those last 4 reps at the end of each set. I may take tonight off and hit shoulders tomorrow, arms on Saturday.

Diet still is off, there have been some chips, cookies and chocolate here and there. I really need to clean it up. No longer dehydrated but I’m up 4lbs. :(

It feels a bit awkward at first, but I got a Manta Ray (I’d used one back in high school) and it helps a lot to avoid the collateral damage that comes from the bar on squats. Plus it makes you use good form with where it holds the bar.

Good to hear the back’s doing well. Now, just avoid those domestic piledrive maneuvers and you’ll be in good shape! ;)
