Sprains, pains and photo shoots……….

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Wednesday night I trained with Smorgan1227 for the first time. It’s really cool to actually get to meet someone on bb.com and have them live so close. During the warm-up I was showing her how to do burpees. We were going to hit shoulders that night Stormi style. During my first set of burpees something in my shoulder pulled. I don’t know what it was but I couldn’t even raise my arm it hurt so much. I was so disappointed, I was ready to give up on the workout and just video Sonya doing the workout. Then Monday (yes, it’s her name) walked by and called me a wuss. So we changed the workout to arms and ended up having a great workout.

This was Sonya’s first time taking supplements (she’s on a CL stack now :D ) and she could really feel it working for her.

Now to the photo shoot stuff. Sonya’s brother is a professional photographer and I had my first real photo shoot yesterday. Never did a real shoot before so I was nervous, not to mention I wasn’t looking my leanest. I tried not to eat or drink to much the day before. The day of I had a granola bar before the photos and water only when I was thirsty. Oh, did I mention it’s been over a hundred out here this week too. I had to do my own make-up, and took the advice of my girlfriends……however much make-up you normally wear (which is really nothing but eyeliner and mascara) put on 12x as much. I felt like I had on enough make-up to keep half the hookers on San Pablo pretty but it sure did look good on camera. I have a video that I’ll upload on youtube tonight and post when I get a chance. I can’t wait to see how the pictures turned out. It was a really fun experience but kinda nerve wracking at the same time. He guided me through it though and by the end I was feeling like a pro…….sort of. Have a great weekend everyone!

Time 40 minutes

Cardio:
20 minutes - Treadmill 3@3.7

Tonight was the first time I did the Clean & Press. I’m so excited. The weight wasn’t heavy but getting the motion down was. I’m not very coordinated so I’m sure I looked pretty awkward at first. The first 3 set of them were good but the last 2 sets killed me. I had to stop after 3 and rest for a couple of minutes before I could continue. I will definately be keeping these in my routine. I made sure to roll out my back and stretch good. The last time I did the burpees it made my back really tight so we’ll see tomorrow how I feel. I’m starving so tonight it’s steak and sweet potato fries for dinner!!!

Deep Sigh

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

I feel like I’m at a point in life where everything is just fitting perfectly. Things are rolling in the right direction and I have everything I need to be happy. But I still feel like I’m missing something right now. I have no one to share it with. Today I feel an emptiness inside that I haven’t felt in a while. It’s making me kinda sad actually. Guess my life isn’t as rich as I thought it was.

Thinking out loud.

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

There was a girl at the gym this morning, she was going to town on the elliptical. I mean if she were running on a trail all you would see is dust. She is probably about 5′8" pretty tall (especially compared to me) but she was really, really lean. To me she did not look healthy at all. I know I weigh more than her and I just started thinking. What is healthy. We are all here to better ourselves. We eat clean, we exercise and we try to refrain from unhealthy habits. But is our idea of healthy the same as someone else’s idea of healthy?

I’m sure her idea of healthy is different than mine. Matter of fact I know it is. I wanted to offer to take her to lunch just so I knew she would eat today. But how healthy am I. Sure I try to eat clean, yes I exercise. To someone who isn’t into working out  as much as I am, I’m sure I seem extreme to them. So who is really healthy, who’s right?
