Today’s a much better day. Hit the gym last night for legs. Love it! There was this kid there, he was there the night before. He was standing at the vbar doing pressdowns but he kept moving all around. He’d take a big step back, step to the side, turn towards the mirror and pushdown on all 10lbs which was obviously way to light because he’d pull it down to his legs. I just didn’t understand why he kept moving around. Even if your not sure how to use the equipment, you can watch people and kinda figure it out from there even if it’s not perfect form. He was watching the guys do it and jumped on when they were done. So last night, he goes to the lat pulldown and proceeds to pulldown 10lbs again. He’s seated so that his legs are bent underneath him. Not sitting upright. He pulls the bar down into his lap, looks around. Brings the bar up again and this time pulls it down behind his neck, with it still on his neck he turns and looks around. A few more pulls into the lap he gets up and heads to the vbar. Does the same thing as the night before….huh, I find that so frustrating. If you don’t know how to use the equipment ask and I really don’t want to be the person at the gym that walks around trying to correct everyone’s form. Anyways, training is going great. If your interested check it out.

Hee, must be a kid thing… trying to be independent, but not knowing what the heck he’s doing! Aren’t there instructions on the equipment, anyway?

YAY for being able to work legs again!!

It’s a guy thing. Some guys can’t ask for help. It’s hard for us to admit we don’t know EVERYTHING! OK, it’s hard for some of us. I, for example, know virtually nothing, but that doesn’t stop me from giving out bad directions when asked. LOL! :)

Kind of sounds to me like he wasn’t really that interested in working out. Maybe he was just there to check out the scenery.

There are more of these people than you think out there. Your comment of being able to watch and learn is only for some people, others don’t understand and will never unless someone helps them. I totally agree about not going around and helping. I am more than willing to help people (with the little I know) if they ask, but won’t say a word if they don’t. And at our gym there are quite a few people in dire need of help.

LMAO – I loved the lively description! That boy sure needs help :)
However, it’s a good thing that he only uses puny weights … if not, he would get seriously injured within a week.

I hope for the poor fellah that some of the trainers in the gym will spot the problem and give him some directions.

Anyway, you made me laugh :)

OKay it may seem akward…. but he could be in Male Malipulation Training…lmao Yeah it’s not a conventional style….. but the results can be just plain Bulldogish…lol Congrats on the legs…. I have always liked looking at them….lmao Keep on Keepin!

I know what you mean. there is a lady in the gym who acts like she is the only there and gets in my way. She lifts the same weigts over and over with no increase and yet acts like its the weight of the world. Once she almost dropped a dumbbell on my foot (came close) no appologies.
    I know hoe you feel.

yeah I’ve seen it many times at the gym, you can easily tell when someone is a beginer at the gym.

LMAO! Yesterday there was a kid at our gym, maybe 17-18, maybe younger. anyhow. i was doing dips on the assisted machine. i get off and move RIGHT next to it to do tricep kickbacks, this wack job jumps on teh damn machine and starts going crazy. i’m looking at him, like WTF! i was getting tee’d! so then he stops doing dips and starts trying to do pullups and he was just so off w/ his form. my best friend, this other guy and me were all giving him the evil eye! he jumped off quick and ran to the other side of the gym! lol! they are everyone! GYM EQUIPMENT 101-ANYONE?!

Maybe the young kid is intimated by hard body older women that don’t look like mommy. I think that he isj ust trying to get some muscle for the young girls. I know my kid is like that. Had to teach him to that you got to the gym to workout not checkout the chicks!!

LOL. :) Seriously, I just get SUCH a kick out of seeing people like, it completely makes my day!!! LMAO!!!!! :D Sometimes I feel an overwhelming urge to correct them, but I remind myself that there are SO many reasons to be at a gym, and I have no idea what’s going on in their brains. :D
