Tonight

Going to have to go with Trixter’s advice an switch to dropsets or supersets. Something needs to change. And if you look at the his pictures and his wifey’s pics he know his stuff. I’m doing triceps tonight so I’m thinking dropsets with some 21’s at the end…..if I remember and I’m not too tired.

Did biceps and about 35 minutes of cardio. I am just not losing weight. I’ve been eating cleaner. I know it’s mostly about diet but I’ve been doing cardio for a few weeks now and I haven’t lost a pound. I don’t think the creatine is making me hold my weight. Last time I was on it, it helped me lose weight. I don’t feel like I’m losing inches either. Although I do feel stronger and increased my weights last night. I was able to curl 17.5lbs no problem. I was thinking of trying that 300 workout. OMG! It’s insane! I need to see if my old gym still has that tire out back.

So here I was driving into work this morning. Had the tunes on, was singing along when this ******* comes flying up and cuts me off. He almost hit my car. Ok, instant road rage. I wanted to chase that mutha fu$%er down and run his ass off the road into a ditch so I could beat the crap out of him……but I didn’t. I’ve been trying to work on my attitude and temper. Trying to be positive and happy. Not let things get to me. Jerk! Where’s a cop when you need them!

 Anyways, my back is feeling alot better today. I did alot of stretching on my lunch yesterday and it really helped. As soon as I stopped stretching my back got worse so this is just my reminder to always stretch. Last night I was able to do a light back workout which felt really good. I haven’t been training my back for the last month because of my low back. I also did 40 minutes on the stair mill. I have to break it up, 20 before weights and 20 after. That thing is killer for cardio and shaping my legs and glutes but it is sooo hard.

  My Nasm books should be in today. I’m soooo excited! Hurry up Trixter!

Quick post

Just had to make a quick post. Last night I did shoulders and cardio. I wanted to do legs. As a test I tried the leg press without any weights. I can get my feet in the low stance (which really works quads) but couldn’t get my legs to go higher because of my back. I didn’t do my stretches this weekend and it tightened back up. So today I will do my stretches again and just do cardio and arms. Still no back or leg workout this week. It’s going to be a month since I’ve last done it. Hope I don’t get droopy drawers!

 

On a good note I ordered my NASM’s textbooks today and should have them this week. Yeah! My friend loaned me his 24 hour fitness study guide. So I went through that this weekend and it didn’t seem too difficult. I know the NASM’s will be harder but I love a challenge. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Not much cardio last night. Hit shoulders hard and it felt really good. I was able to do the 60lb barbell for shoulder presses. I could probably have done 70 but didn’t want to push it. It really helps to have a training partner sometimes. I only did 20 minutes of cardio on the stair mill but I did more stretches after my workout. My back feels so much better. It is almost 100%. I still don’t want to do back or legs yet, next week I should be in full form again. I’ll be back in the conference room this afternoon doing my yoga again. It has really made a huge difference in helping my back.

Went back to the gym Monday night. My back was still sore but not as bad as last week. I was warming up on the stair climber and I was just so happy to be back in the gym that I wanted to yell "woooo hoooo!"…. I didn’t. I did chest and triceps. Did another half hour of cardio after the weights and felt really good. My back didn’t feel worse. Tuesday, my back started to get sore again. So on my lunch hour I went into the conference room and did some yoga. Lots of back stretches. One of the sales guys walked through and all he could see were my toes sticking up. I was laying on the floor with my feet up on the wall. I did an hour and 20 minutes of cardio last night and also did biceps. I’m still afraid to do back and legs for fear of aggrevating my back again. Woke up today and my back feels soo much better. So I’ve decided that my lunch hour will be for yoga/pilates. I’ve been trying to incorporate it back into my workouts but I’m tired and hungry by the time I leave the gym and I am not a morning person. Most of my co-workers know not to talk to me until at least 10. Tonight will be more cardio again and probably shoulders. Happy hump day everyone!

Hell week

Last week turned out to be the week from hell. I had to take the week off from the gym because my back was killing me. It’s still bothering me but not as bad as it was last week. I’m going to attempt light weights this week. Probably skip back and legs and just do extra cardio to loose this extra weight.

 I took Monday and Tuesday off last week from work. Came in Wednesday and everything was going ok. Was told there was going to be a meeting on Friday, the CEO would be here. Things have been pretty slow for us and we knew that’s what he wanted to talk about. Thursday, he shows up…..and laid off about 6 people. There is only one other office girl here besides me and she was laid off. (Thank you for letting me keep my job!) I must have had that round eye, scared to death look because as he was leaving (CEO) he asked me if I was ok….. That is just so scary! We had no idea it was going to be this hard of a hit. We knew there’d be some cut backs. So now I really want to get my pt cert. At least I have something else to fall back on. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Congrats to Stormi on her win! Pixi, hopefully everything went well this weekend and you get to keep your family around for a little while longer.

My back is still really tight and painful today, not good but I thought I’d try shoulders and triceps with some cardio. It really kills me to say this but I don’t think I can even do cardio til my back starts to feel better. So I guess my bday present to myself is to take the rest of the week off and hit the gym again on Monday when hopefully I’m back to my full self. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! Oh and by the way, my girlfriend and I decided to have lunch after the gym…..um, we started with a soup and salad which was really yummy, than we split a cheeseburger and fries and a molten lava cake……..and damn was it all good.
