I am so proud of my old pilates teacher. Ok, not old, former pilates teacher. She got her procard last September and competed in the Arnold this year. Tanya Merryman. She is so awesome it’s great to see her doing what she loves. She was a great teacher. Of course being a former gymnist you can imagine how flexable she is……and how inflexible I am. She’ll be in these poses and everyone in my class pretty much had the same expression…..you want me to do what? I’m going to try and paste the link so you can see. If it doesn’t work look her up in the results.

My legs have been so tired lately. I think all the cardio I’m doing is really wearing me down. I climbed on the stairmill yesterday and my quads were burning and that was only after 3 minutes. I’ve been walking for an hour on my lunch than after weights at the gym I’ve been doing 15 on the stairmill and running for 15 on the treadmill. I’ve been feeling frustrated lately. I lost 5lbs and now the weight loss has stopped again. Ok, yesterday was a serious cheat day. Pizza for lunch, cheeseburger and onion rings for dinner with a sundae for dessert. I know, I know….porker! I’m feeling it today. Definately a cardio night.
Ok fellas. I have a grip. Don’t stare at a female when your at the gym. There are mirrors ALL around us, I can see you gawking. I don’t find it flattering or cute. It’s just plain creepy!! And don’t try to talk to me when I’m in a middle of a set and you can clearly see me counting! Wait til I’m done THAN you may speak. And please don’t try and throw me some stupid pickup line. That is not what I’m there for. Well, unless your really, really hot. Than my eyes and mind have been known to wander, I loose track of the number of reps and I get that stupid grin on my face and the only thing I can say is "How you doing?".

Not feeling too hot today. Pulled that muscle in my left hamstring again last night. Damn yoga! Tonight was just going to be a cardio night but right now I’m feeling dizzy and nauceous. That’s not good. I don’t know what it is. No fever and I’ve been eating normal…..except for the 7 chocolate chip cookies yesterday. I’ll probably go home early and take a nap. Maybe an ear infection? I’ve had that before where your equilibrium is off and that makes you dizzy and nauceous. Hope all my pals out there are doing well.

So my pulled hamstring doesn’t seem to be pulled but maybe a pinched nerve in my butt. I didn’t do cardio last night and my leg feels so much better today. Almost back to normal. And even better I’ve lost 4lbs! WhooooHooooo! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

I noticed yesterday when I went for my afternoon walk that my left hamstring was a little sore. I expected it with all the stretching I did with the yoga the night before. So I got to the gym to hit legs. Did regular squats and felt fine but when I hit lunges that hamstring really started to bother me. Most of you would have stopped there I’m sure but nope, I went on to my 1 legged quats on the Hack machine. After 1 set I couldn’t squat on my left leg. Nope, not even half way it hurt so bad just to put my weight on it. Crap! So I’m limping around the gym to finish my workout with leg extensions, leg curls and calves. So today I’m still limping a bit. Doesn’t hurt as much as it did last night. I guess I’ll have to skip my afternoon walk so hopefully I can do cardio tonight. For the first time in weeks I didn’t have to fight with my jeans to get them on this morning! We’re going dancing this weekend and I’ll be damned if I’m going to be a wallflower.

I’ve added yoga back into my routines. I miss my classes so much. This gym doesn’t offer any kind of classes so I just have to do it at home. Which isn’t all that bad. You don’t really want to be the only one in the gym upside down with your legs twisted in a way that is just not humanly possible. I put in my tape with Shiva Rea. Really well know yoga instructor and great flexibility. But I have to say the only way I’m going to get my legs behind my back is if someone snaps me in half and bends me that way. Anyways, last night was chest and triceps. I’m finally starting to see some definition in my tris. If I can just drop about 10lbs I’ll be good!

Hit legs yesterday at the gym….after my pants splitting peep show. Did the usual squats and lunges but I’ve added one legged squats to my routine too. We have this funky hack squat machine that I call the girlie machine. Only the women who are afraid to do real squats on the squat rack use this machine. Anyways, I love doing the one legged on this cause you don’t have to worry about balance and can concentrate on the muscle alone. This thing really kicks my a$$ literally. I was already feeling it last night when I went to bed so I know I’m going to be in some serious pain tomorrow. Nothing a little yoga can’t fix.
Took my poochie for a walk after the gym. It was beautiful out. Sunny and warm compared to the gloomy grey and rain we’ve had the last couple of weeks. I was wearing a tank top and it felt great. Anyways, Roxy is a really protective and aggressive dog. Even though she’s only a foot tall she believes she’s as big as a mastiff and as tough as a pitbull. This stray comes strolling up to Roxy. I’ve got her on a leash and I can already tell this means trouble. This dog looked like a lab and dalmation mix. Three times the size of Roxy. Roxy didn’t even give this dog a sniff. She just went straight for the throat. I sure as heck wasn’t about to stick my hand in there to split them up. I finally got them split up. Yes I had to give the other dog a little kick, well more like a shove with my foot while pulling Rox away. I look at Roxy and she’s foaming at the mouth and blood is dripping out. We get away from the other dog and I gave Rox the once over to see how badly she’s hurt. Other than a little tiny cut on her nose she was fine. The blood was from the other dog. Haha, that’s right my little Rox is a bad ass! I love animals but inside I was rooting for my little bully to kick some ass. Never under-estimate the little dog! We may be smaller but that just means we have easier access to the throat!

Well I’ve been complaining how I’ve gained weight and my butt is alot bigger. Well today was my proof. I split my pants. Yes, you read correctly. I split my jean. Right now my left butt check is peeking out to say hello! So I’m going to head home to change into my gym clothes and spend a couple of hours doing cardio.

Not much going on this week. Still hitting cardio hard and light weights. I’m actually back to walking around the block a few times at lunch again. Well at least until it starts to rain again. I have to say I’m quite embarrased. This little old lady doing the same thing did laps around me. Lol, I hope I’m in that great of shape when I get older. Not much else going on. Have a great day everyone!
