Boxing
Last nights boxing session really kicked my butt. I pulled my rotator cuff a couple of years ago and last night I it was burning! I think I did pretty good. Only wanted to pass out once, I was so tired at the end of the 30 minutes (stop laughing, it’s harder than it looks) that I couldn’t even knock out a 5 year old. (No, I would never hit a kid, unless provoked! Just kidding, for those of you without a sense of humor.) My right hand is a little sore today, it hurts to bend my first 2 fingers. I couldn’t even type last night my hand was shaking so bad. It’s still shaking and the knuckles are a little red. For those of you who have never done it, it’s like getting great cardio and weight training in at the same time. My upper body was nice and tight when I was done and I had sweat pouring down my face. I think I’m going to do it again next week. I’m going to have to practice my combos though. I have a hard time with a left jab and hook (cordination problem). Ok, done typing for now, hands shaking.

oh yeah, oh hells yeah, boxing or kickboxing, you are DONE after a session, and something ALWAYS hurts. fun though, aint it? afterward you feel intense and powerfull, or crumpled and broken, depending on whether you won or lost the round or spar. I always had issues with combinations, I could never hit that small double ended bag twice in a row.
are you using wraps in your session? basically to improve your hands if they are getting hurt go one step further than you are now, like if you have wraps then put those on and get some bag gloves too, they will help. plus, wraps give you the feeling you can punch anything as hard as you want

He did a good job of wrapping my hands. He used the wraps with a piece of padding over my knuckles and than I wore the gloves on top of that. I’m just not used to hitting. I expected my hands to hurt some. My hands didn’t hurt as much as my shoulder did.

Yikes, be careful of that rotator cuff! I had that happen once and it took forever and a day to heal. Glad to hear it was fun, though… maybe a sparring match is due with the gym hottie? Winner gets a full-body massage!

i was curious to try that at my new gym…i think i am now! i read the class descrip…it follows a circuit format…punching bags, jump rope, etc. is that how ur class works? i’m looking for a cardio form that will help me build up my upper body…i think this would be good

Quickest way to find out exactly how out of shape I am: the heavy bag!
