Still hanging in there.

I’m back. I’ve been in hiding for the last week. I’ve been fighting this stomach flu and depression and I’m slowly getting my butt in gear. One foot in front of the other. My appetite has disappeared, I was lucky to take in 500 calories a day. Not good I know. I’ve lost a few pounds and really don’t like what I’m seeing in the mirror. There’s a healthy thin and there’s a sickly thin. And right now I’m looking pretty sickly. Pale is not my color. I’ve been trying to stick with the gym and have had to go lighter since I haven’t recovered my strength yet. Haven’t even bothered with cardio other than walking the dog. I’m pretty bored with my routine too. I think I’ve hit a plateau and I’m not sure what to do about it. We have a new personal trainer at the gym. He used to be a MMA fighter and I’ve been watching him train other people. He looks pretty good, unconventional. He’s been trying to get me into taking some lessons from him. He says he can tell I’m into strength training and I have the endurance for his type of training. I’d be all over it if it wasn’t for the money issue. I don’t want to use my emergency money for something that’s well, not an emergency. Anyways, I’ve been over in the forums and article’s trying to find some new routines but nothing is grabbing my interest. Any suggestions would be great.

    Hey, try this.

For 4 weeks, go into a high rep routine. 4 excercises per body part, 3-4 sets each 15-20 reps.

Do each body part twice a week.

I did this for the month of August and loved the changes. I worked the sets to failure. Actually gained strength through it as ell

I know how ya feel about the flu bug, I just got over pretty much the same thing. Another suggestion would be to throw in a set of 100 reps for your last set.

Just keep plugging. We are here for you, you’ve been there for me so now its my turn. Maybe when your at the gym, you could watch some of the stuff this new trainer is doing and try it yourself. That way you don’t have to pay the $. Maybe it seems a little low but I know what you mean about the $. I can’t afford to pay attention half the time. Anyway, you passed the test of course , you are the best. Keep it up and let me know how you are doing……..

I hope things are getting better with you. Keep p the hard work and try not to slip it’s hard to catch up if you do.

I hope you feel better! Stomach flu is nasty stuff. If you’re looking for a new routine have you considered doing a 5×5 program?
