Upperbody/Cardio

10×20; 10×22.5; 10×25 - DB bench press
10×25; 10×25; 9×25 - DB incline press
10×30; 10×40; 10×40 - BB shoulder press
12×15; 10×20; 10×25 - Face pull (love these)
10×40; 8×40; 7×45 - Pullups (assisted)
10×40; 7×40; 5×45 - Chinups (assisted)
10×20; 10×25; 10×27.5 - Tricep pushdown (rope)
15; 13; 10 - Tricep bench dips (bodyweight)
3-10×10 - Tricep kickbacks
8×40; 6×40; 5×40 - Ez bar curl

20 minutes - treadmill @ 3.3; incline gradual 10-13

 

Today was supposed to be my rest day but after the Old fashioned chocolate doughnut and chicken wings (garlic parmesan and spicey) oh and french fries I just had to do some cardio. When I got there it was like, I can’t just come in for cardio. I’ll do an upper body workout. I usually break everything up so this will be a nice shock for my system.  I feel pretty good. Alot better than I did earlier. (A little sick from the grease and sweets, amazing what your body gets used to.)

So lately I’ve been hanging out in the forums. You can find alot of good advice on how to train, promotions, supplements, anything. Than there are the misc. stuff. Some really stupid sh$t! Where do these people come up this stuff. It’s just mindless babble. Some of them are really mean. Talking crap about people on this site. Calling them names, just really putting people down. Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

3-10×12.5 - DB curls
3-10×12.5 - Hammer curls (supersets)
7×40 - BB curls

Worked out with a friend of mine today. He is quite the chatterbox so by the time we were done with weights it was too late for cardio. This is why I prefer to workout alone. Today is cheat day. Had a chocolate old fashioned doughnut. Yum, but now I don’t feel so good.

Abs
3×15 - Jack-knifes
2×25 - Crunches

Cardio
20 minutes elliptical

Abs were a little hard to do tonight because I’ve got so much fluid sloshing around in my belly. I usually do them first thing in the morning. Hopefully tonight I’ll be able to fall asleep faster. I don’t really want to count squats again tonight. Oh and by the way I’ve increased my weight but doing less exercises. I no longer feel like I’m completely fatiguing myself, not sure if I like this new feeling.

Tired and Hungry

So last night was another toss and turn night. I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t been able to get my mind to shut off or if it’s the Green Magnitude. It’s supposed to give you energy but without stims. So I got up and read my Oxygen magazine for a little while and tried again. All I could think about was training legs so I decided I would count squats to try and fall asleep. It must have worked, I don’t remember how high I got to. Even in your mind squats are tiring! I’m going to try taking the GM earlier today to see if that will help. If not eventually I’ll just pass out from exhaustion. Good thing tonight is only shoulders/abs/cardio.

Chest and Tris

Well today started off a little slow. Had a hard time falling asleep last night. Today was my son’s first day back to school. Of course last night I had a dream that I woke up late for school, so what happens this morning…..I was 5 minutes late.  Oh well. Alot of yawning going on today too. Took my Green Mag and was ready to hit the gym. I was going to try and cut back on some of the exercises that I’ve been doing. 

Chest
9×75; 7×75; 7×65 flat bench barbell
7×65; 5×65; 7×55 incline bench barbell
10×12.5; 10×12.5; 8×12.5 cable crossovers
10×55; 10×55; 8×55 - Flyes (machine)
12×20; 10×20; 8×20 - Machine press

After chest I was feeling a little like I didn’t do enough and was so preoccupied  with not doing too much that I almost for triceps.

Tris
10; 15; 13 - bench dips
10×30; 10×30; 8×30 skull crushers
12×20; 9×20; 9×20 tricep extension rope
10×40; 9×40; 8×40 dip machine

Cardio - 20 minutes on the treadmill @ 5.5 w/1.0 incline.

 Feel pretty good. My chest and arms still feel like they got a good workout.

Legs

Monday, August 27th, 2007

10×105; 8×105; 7×105 - Wide legged squats
3 x 40lbs BB - Walking lunges (All the way across gym and back - 36 steps 1 way)
12×160; 10×180; 10×200 - Donkeys

I usually do more exercises for legs but I’m going to try and split things up. Today the lunges really wiped me out. I have never done 3 sets across the gym before. Even though my glutes, hams and quads feel soo tight right now it’s feels weird to only do 3 different exercises. I feel like I’m slacking off.

So someone said to me the other day that I’m overtraining. I didn’t think I was but judge for yourself. I’ve been blogging my exercises lately. Am I doing too much? I’ve been trying to build strength. What does your routine look like?

Legs

Friday, August 24th, 2007

I was hoping to hit the glutes and legs today at the gym but they didn’t have anyone around to watch my son so we had to turn around and go home. (I live next door so I didn’t have far to go). It’s 100 degrees outside so I won’t be doing anything outdoors. Did I get discouraged? Nope! Dusted off the old Bosu and did my squats and lunges on that not to mention some plyos and got a nice burning in the legs. Ha! My afternoon was productive after all. So even if you can’t get to the gym it can still be done at home. Maybe not the training you had in mind but all is not lost!
