The couch is calling!

I went to the gym both days this weekend and had every intentions of going tonight, til about 4:30. I just felt drained and exhausted. I feel bad about not going but I know my body is telling me something and I better listen. I don’t want to push my body to the point where it starts breaking down. So tomorrow night, I’ll be back. But tonight the couch is calling!

Ok, so recently I was complaining about my protein belly. Finally got rid of it by switching milk to water and what a difference. I’ve added a couple of progress pics of my abs, they’re not Fern abs but you can see some definition now. Ok, so this is the highlight of my day. Damn I need to get a life. lol

Supersets

Last night was a good workout. Did supersets chest, shoulders and biceps. Probably put my body into shock since I’ve never done supersets. Plus it was supposed to be leg night last night. So today I feel tight all over. Started drinking my protein shakes with water too. The bloating was just too much. What good is it to train abs when you can’t even see them?

So this week at the gym was pretty good. I’m feeling a little stronger each time I go in. I can see some definition in the mirror now and I know it’s not my imagination! Despite the buddha belly from the protein shake I’m looking leaner and a couple of the guys at the gym even pointed that out last night. The 22 year old cutie asked me out again…hhhmmmm. He is legal right? lol

So I started my protein shakes yesterday. I took one before the gym and I actually felt good. I was still alittle tired but I didn’t feel too full or hungry. However, I now seem to have a belly. I feel really bloated. I don’t think I used too much salt last night. I’m guessing it has to do with the shakes. I hope this goes away.

Tired and sore

I am so tired. I haven’t slept well the last couple of nights and I am just dragging today. On top of that I am so sore from yesterdays workout. I did tris and chest and today it hurts to even breath. I think it’s a definate nap at lunch. I need my strength for legs tonight. No cardio, yaa!

Slow start

Well I got off to a slow start this morning. I was so excited last night about going to the gym this morning for a chest and tri workout that I could hardly sleep. (No, I don’t have much of a life. lol) I tossed and turned all night, must have gotten up 5 times to pee. That’s right Msfitness68, I’ve got you beat for tinest bladder! I finally fell asleep around 4:30, I had wanted to be at the gym by 8. Of course I woke up close to 9. Opps, no biggie. I was going to have a small breakfast before going to the gym but I thought, no they say you burn more fat if you go first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. So off I went, without breakfast. That was a mistake, by the time I was done with chest I was hungry. That’s not good. I still have tris to do. Did pretty good with tris, even though now I’m starting to think about food. Got through tris and now it’s cardio time. 20 minutes max, how hard can that be. When your hungry, it really sucks. I can’t stand cardio to begin with. 10 minutes of running on the treadmill and I just can’t go anymore. So I switch to the escalator climbing thingy, that was the worst 10 minutes every. Every muscle in my legs were hurting and I had no energy but I got through it. I walk to and from the gym and I have to pass the donut shop on the way. I do my usual, slow down my pace as I walk past the door and take a nice, long, sniff. Damn it smells good, but I’ve never stopped yet. Get home and before I can even take my shoes off my dog is all over me. You’d think I was gone for a week, not a couple of hours. What a sweet dog, she misses me. I go in the kitchen and their it is, her empty bowl. She didn’t miss me, she was only hungry, just like me. lol

Body fat

I had my body fat tested again. I’ve lost 6 lbs since I first had it done. The guy says it hasn’t changed, not only that but the gym director says "you should lift weights". I go to the gym everynight after work and I lift weights for about an hour and do 20 minutes of cardio. Now I’m ticked, I’m like I lift everyday that I come in, maybe if you left your office once in a while you would see that. Then of course they’re trying to sell me training sessions. I don’t need training sessions from someone who is fat and flabby! If your going to train me you better have a body better than mine. I asked if it would make a difference if I had the test done in the morning, they said no. That doesn’t sound right to me. So I was pretty ticked but there’s a guy that works out there that told me they were wrong. When I took the test, what I was eating and drinking all mattered. I’m not having them take my body fat measurements again. They also told me that if I only had 10% body fat that I would be near death. I see plenty of women on here with that percentage of fat and they don’t look near death to me. They look pretty damn good. What a crock!

Supplements - suggestions?

Ok, I think I need to add supplements to my diet. I probably need more protein to get these muscles alittle bigger. My goal here is to tone up and lose more body fat. I’m going for the fitness/model look, not bodybuilding look. I get cross-eyed reading about this stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m sensitive to caffeine or anything that gives you "extra energy". A mocha in the morning and I’m up all night.
