Are We There Yet!
"Are We There Yet!" Four little words as parents we hate to hear on a road trip, but loved to say when we were young. Or other great memories like, making a trucker honk his horn, counting cars, trucks, etc. or best yet sleeping in the back window (long before car seats and seat belt laws). Well, this is my last day in the office or at my regular gym for a week. We are loading up first thing Monday for our annual pilgrimage south to Jacksonville, FL to spend the holidays with my wife’s favorite aunt. Despite the eight hour car ride with a 7 and 3 year old and my mom, it really is a fun trip. Interesting one of my buddies at the gym today said all that work on your abs will be gone. I laughed and said nope, I will be making it a point to eat right and workout on my trip. In fact my wife is already making arrangements for us to use one of her properties workout center while we are there. This will be fun as it will really be the first time she and I have a chance to workout together.
We had date night planned tonight however, our 7 year old managed to get grounded so that is over. Tomorrow I am taking him on a Turkey shoot to earn his BB Gun and Archery Cub Scout Belt loops. I better make sure my medical insurance is paid up.
I am finishing the first week of adding supplements to my diet and I truly feel a difference in my recovery and not being as tired at the end of the day. I also switched to a new multi-vitamin and that has made a tremendous difference in focus and energy.
Lastly, I hope you all have a wonderful, safe and rewarding Thanksgiving next week. Let’s remember why we are thankful that years ago someone choose to step outside of the box and get on a boat and seek a new world. Despite that everyone telling him, Columbus believed the earth to be round and not flat and set out to prove those wrong. Ask yourselves, what if we all thought that we could not change our bodies and that we just had to settle for same old body. Like Columbus chartered a new course for our lives stepped out into the unknowns of a gym, cleaning eating, and today we are stronger, more vibrant, positive and healthier than before. Today I say I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my family and for finding BodySpace and my friends on here that give me constant encouragement each day to achieve my very best.
Thanks Friends, and let’s have a positive attitude and tackle the Thanksgiving Buffet at our own terms and not someone else’s.

Todd, I know YOU will appreciate this:
My wife sent me an email this morning, with a Youtube song (see link below). It’s by TobyMac. I have one of his other albums loaded on my mp3, that I listen to during some of my workouts. Sarah, my youngest (8) specifically asked my wife to send it to me, because she really liked the lyrics & wanted to share it with me. I’m not embarassed to tell you this brought me to tears this morning. Here I go again…… getting a little choked. My little girl loves Our Savior.
Praise Our King & thank you Father.

That reminded me of heading to Northerm MI twice a year for the last 17 years with 4 kids and a dog…good times. Have a safe trip and a great holiday with the family. Oh yeah, and safety glasses for the turkey shoot for sure.
