Its been a whole darn week since I wrote a post. Maybe weekly makes sense…consequently, I am back to reporting on deadlifts…went up in weight to 146 k….sets of 6. I only got 5 sets as my back was kind of creaky. Happy with the weight though.
I tried a fat burner last couple weeks….Atrophex ..started off with a free sample in my Syntha 6….thought that was pretty good, so I bought a box and started in. One day I came home from the gym so lathered up about my workout, and the economic collapse on the radio that I kicked the dog and gave my wife hell…..after apologizing later that day I decided to back off the pills….mebbe Ill use one here and there sparingly, but (4 ) per day aint happening for a while. Which puts me back to simple clean eating…:) should’ve realized that there is no magic pixie dust…

Here we go again! I knew today was a new leg workout, but little did I suspect that that bowling ball was going to plan deads again…( my workout partner, who is also a CPT, likes to plan the workouts. His body is has a low center of gravity. Let’s just leave it at that SO. Deadlifts. I like the idea of this exercise, but my low back, not so much. I was happy to experience a little pain, but the weight went up there! Six sets of (6) at 140 k. I know he will eclipse me at this, but this was a good start! If I can keep my back flat and lock it in, I cans see going up to 160 or so by the end of this go around. And, I had the added bonus of avoiding a back spasm on the drive home . ( The prequel to this post, about 10 or 12 posts ago, describes this nightmare.) WOOOHOOOOO!!
I am also cycling off creatine. Not such a great time , but is there ever a great time? Maybe the drop in water will cause an ab muscle to peek out!

Just read crlgrl’s blog about the race…what a woman! hot, 40, and gets up and runs at 5 am…
I did nothing of the sort, although my w/o partner decided that jump rope would be a good idea…candid camera never had a better subject than the two of us stumbling through this…(He wants to rehab his achilles)..so we managed 3 rounds of a minute on and 20 0r 30 seconds off….I dediced that the cable jump rope with the heavy ball bearing (i said bearing, not busting handles worked better than the rope one….maybe this will be a good thing…although my calfs are burning and Im not sure my heart rate got all that high…Im kinda thinkin leg day tommorrow might be a challenge as well…
In the coffee department, I came home and brewed a mix of sun dried Sidamo ( which was a christmas present. I would never buy this. It blows the limit of my fru-fru scale, which is actually pretty high). I wasnt so sure about this stuff , so I topped it off with about two tablespoons of French Roast. Its ok, but I should’ve gone with the straight french. After a workout, even a cardio one, Im feeling a little macho. Sun dried Sidamo is for pussies..hehehhehehehe. Enjoy your sunday all, hope you have President’s Day off. Which reminds me , Ill spare you all the political commentary, but yesterday I got so worked up about the description of the "stimulus" in the NYT that I had to apologize…..

Wow….just got back from (you guessed it) the gym and thinkin I should have done something outside! ..its 55 and heading toward 70 degrees…WOOOOOHOOOOO!!! I know there are many still suffering with snow and crap, but I cant help it. If there was ever a case for becoming a snowbird, this is it.
I did hit it like a Spartan today with the 300 routine, or my gym’s version of it. Deadlifts/cleans for 20, 20 pushups, squat/shoulder press for 20, 20 glutehams, 20 single leg squats..to polish me off I did 3 sets each of bi/tri exercises and 12 min of HIIT…good thing I had left an ice pack in the freezer because the lower back needed it for the ride home….after a shower and a shake it is definitely a trip to downtown, or maybe THE BEACH!!

OK,ok, I know this is training, not Fox News, BUT… I get home last nite and my wife was on the computer, so I dont get to log on to BB.com, AND I have to warm up supper. She is typing furiously to let our senator know that she is on FIRE about the fact that Tom Daschle is about to be confirmed when he almost skated on $140,000 in income taxes and he hasnt paid a penalty. (Back story is that I was underwitheld last year and had to pay a penalty along with the extra tax .) I was pretty unhappy about this as well, dont get me wrong, but she was ranting enough for both of us. Well, it was welcome news today when the candidate withdrew. Then, this evening , as I am heading into my chiropractor’s office my 21 yr old daughter calls to GO OFF that a poli sci professor today wanted to equate Governer Lynch (D-NH) being arm twisted to appoint a republican replacement for Judd Gregg with Blagoevich looking for a "donation" as a quid pro quo for his senate choice. heheh…guess we raised her right…
WHew….on the fitness front , I am on about my fourth day of a lot cleaner eating , but I want to raid the crackers as we speak. Wife at a hockey meeting, #1 son at work, cant go to the gym because #2 son is home sick, and the pantry is calling me! I am typing this in an attempt to stay outta there! THere also some outstanding ginger cookies waiting to be liberated from the ceramic cell they were sentenced to , but I am NOT their savior. Dinner will not be until about 9. What I really need to do is better plan my between meal meals….tough but not impossible to do at work. I talked to someone at the office about collaborating on this , you know, stocking the place with apples and almonds or something like that, but talking about it and doing it are two different things. Right now I am sipping on water but a little wine wouldnt hurt…YES IT WOULD..dangit..HELP!!! I want a carb and I dont wanna do it…

Just to start off, I am eating a lot cleaner. Got thru the Super Bowl with just two (small) slices of homemade pizza. No beer, no cookies, chips, nothing. No cheating so far today, so I am on a roll as far as I am concerned…lol. Front squats today for leg day. Still painful but went a lot better than last week. Six sets of six at the 120k . Got them all with good form, although veins on my forehead were about to pop as my overall head looked more like a beet… The goal is to push this up to 130k in a couple workouts. Only reason I go along with this is my workout partner , who is supposed to be a professional, (he is, really) likes them. And, they are so darned difficult that I think its an accomplishment..finished off with poor man’s glutehams and legg press. The wobblyness on the walk out to the car says "good job"…..
