Just came in from running my weed whacker for a couple hrs….got the battle wounds to prove it. Spider webs, ant bites, thorns , scratches….wruff wruff wruff… Takes a good soak in the pool to sooth these. Which I am lookin forward too. Destroyed my shoulders this morning. Easy to do , because this is my best asset, and I like to work them. Shoulder press, external rotations, db flys. whoa. Also paired with various and sundrie lunges (dang trainer likes those. I think he grew up behind the iron curtain.) I read someone’s comment reccomending AGAINST cardio and weights in the same session. Sounds like a great idea to me! This guy is a Prophet , Im sure. Ill mebbe go for a run in the morning. Ciao..

Visited the Red Cross today…therefore, no workout until tommorrow am. I remember when I was in College we all thought that if you gave blood it would cost less to get a buzz….lol…I dont think it really worked. Anyone know how long it takes for your body to reproduce the blood? You cant give again for 8 weeks , I know that. Cardio almost daily continues…faint lines beginning to appear. See if I can avoid screwing it up this time. Weight is still pretty steady, although lifting and creatine will keep that up for a while…Someone on here said , "slowly but surely defeating the enemy". I am ok with slow and sure if the enemy in fact continues to weaken. hehehehehehehe nite

Maybe I can do it! Third day in a row of about 40 min of concerted effort on cardio. I did 10 min of tred….20 min of intervals on the elip, and then 10 one min runs at 9 mph … If I can keep this up along with my regular split, this just might do the trick. It seems that I am more motivated to keep the diet clean when I am in this mode as well. Kinda like I don’t want to mess things up! Kyle (my son and workout buddy) is at hockey tryouts today, and with the ice he will be getting shortly, he will buff up quickly. I will have to do an awful lot of running and treadmilling to keep up. Little bugger will be impossible..hehehehehe…Have a great weekend.

Great (little) workout today. Trainer , (really he’s my son’s coach but we workout together), calls it my "unauthorized" deadlifts. We have been squatting on mondays, so I figure Saturday is a good time to fill in with another leg workout. The last time I tried this on my own my SIJ mustv’e been a little out, because my back was so sore later that day that I couldnt get out of bed ! Much better this time. I was there by myself , so I ramped my way up to 160k and did a couple sets of 4 at that weight. (Of course the better you do, the better you want to do. I should be thrilled to to that weight, considering, but now I think its wimpy.) Altogether something like 50 reps. Balanced it off with leg press to make the quads tired and get me to emphasize hams and glutes. Yes, and I did some ever-loving cardio after. I will get those abs to show yet. Have a great weekend.

OK, this is a drag. Klutzo, (me) , whacked the side of my foot on a cabinet. I must’ve hit it pretty hard, beacuse this was Sunday afternoon and today it is still killing me. Teach me to go around without shoes. I got an Xray this morning and looks like nothing obvious broken. The plan is to try ice and pain pills another day or two and see if it improves. (Not a whole lot visible, only a little swelling and bruise). According to the Doc, there are a multitude of small bones that could be fractured and would not show on the xray. If this is the case, they are slow to heal and sounds like a nightmare recovery. My son is already calling me slacker for missing the squat session yesterday! (Really, I could use the break anyhow.) Anyway, its such an innocuous little hurt that I do feel like a slacker, but the sucker hurts! Im going to get the ice pack now. Pretty much blew off the afternoon of work, and I need to get back tommorrow. More to follow. Keep your fingers crossed.
