Memorial Day

There is usuall enough chatter on this site thanking military personnel, but today is Memorial Day, and I have noticed so many of you here contributing to the world of fitness. Also, we are generally here playing while you are there doing what it takes to keep us safe. To all overseas and away from home defending our freedoms, Thank You. 

 Ran another 5 yesterday. This is getting to be a habit! I think it will fade when the hot and sticky comes, but for now, its wonderful! Ripped abs , here I come. Today son and I are hitting the gym for a leg workout. Pool time after that. Have a great holiday everyone.

cardio sucks..but it works..

Funny how things go like that ? heheh…ran 5 miles today in 50 min…nothing too pressing..but I am no runner…when I get two runs in on a weekend ( did a short one yesterday), I feel skinny all week. Actually, it was a little cooler and overcast, so it really wasnt unpleasant. Sun is coming out now, so possibly a little beach time to cap off the weekend? Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

OK,  I mix this protien concoction after a workout that contains , among other things, shark cartilage. (included in Universal’s Hard Fast)..my youngest son thinks this is a riot, and also appropriate , since his dad is tougher than Godzilla ..so we have gotten to call this "shark and rattlesnake."  Older son is now trying it, since there must be some secret, and he says "tastes like medicine" .  I guess older folks taste buds arent as addicted to sugar. ..  Have a great weekend all. Go red sox!

Bodybuilding…if thats what you call it

Ok. I used to shy away from the word BB, because I thought that A. no way I could ever achieve anything like that, and B. it was vain to be so focused on appearance, right?  Recently though, I have kind of admitted that one of the main reasons for all this , aside from the self satisfaction, is how it LOOKS.  Workouts have taken a more high rep , lot of work  turn and my trainer/workout partner says it is more "bodybuilding stuff" than anything else. (To date, he, my son , and I have been doing a lot of strenth training and olympic lifting. ) Now we are doing shameless pumps with 10 sets of 10 and a lot of looking in the mirror. Its fun! especially for the 17 yr old. (and dad too!) If it looks like its making a diff, Ill post a picture.  Happy training.
