OK, lets not get carried away. Got the adventure workout in..(10 hundred yard uphill runs…its a stretch to call them sprints.. lol) ..stretching, warmdown. Got home…there was breakfast waiting , leftover from wife, two sons and son’s GF .. so I fried two eggs, big glass of water with some glutamine, kept to one slice of bacon…BUT…the pancakes were calling my name. I also know we have some genuine syrup made from maple sap on our little patch of heaven. Ok, so I had one. I am not training for the olympics…
Have a great Sunday. Lets go, Red Sox.

Weather is still nice in SC, (actually its awesome when humidity starts to wane). On weekend days when the gym is a little stifling and the outdoors is great we (w/o partner and I) often steal some weights from our little neighborhood gym and mix it up outside. Today’s plan is:
Dumbell curl and press
lunge halfway up a hill (about 50 yards)
run the other half way up
20 pushups at the top
jog/run/stumble accross the flat top (about 80 yards)
20 barbell (only, no weight) squats - This part is cool, there is a view of the ocean.
get back down the hill any way you can. (preferably not on your ass and face first is also discouraged)
Scheduled is 6 rounds. A couple of times it grew to eight, but the recovery on that was a few days…
There are any number of things you could do. Dont really need the weights. Pushups, situps, and all kinds of Plyos can be mixed it. Mostly its based on X-fit type of work. Enjoy!

Uh huh…..might as well hold off on spending the rest of the Stimulus money.!!!! heheheeh
Once we get into it, the music is playing , sweat starts rolling, there is no taking it easy. Funny how that works.
Squats
clean press
leg raises
rows
leg press
around the world
6 rounds
Sweating like football camp on a sunny saturday. Were supposed to go easy on the weight and the pace because we have outside uphill sprints scheduled for tommorrow… Have to double up on glutamine and get to bed early tonite…
Have a great sunny saturday all. And train hard.

Had our outdoor warrior workout this morning:
Dumbell curl press
40 yd lunge uphill
sprint up the rest of the hill ( +/- 50 yds)
20 pushups
jog across the top of the hill
15 BB squats
Run down the hill
6 Rounds, then abs in the parking lot.
Then we took a dip in the ocean. Could have stayed in that water an hour. Its hot , but there is a little breeze. Water is fairly calm. Its sand dollar season, so they are everywhere. There were a number of dogs having a gay old time in the tide pools. I think I definitely want to come back as a dog. Salt water soothes all your little hurts. Now I have that just-out-of the-spa feeling . (Of course the last time that happened for real, houses were actually selling.) People pay hundreds of dollars for this! Hope everyone has a great sunday.

Beautiful day. Swiped some weights from the gym and went outside on top of a hill on Sullivan’s Island where there is an ocean breeze.
8 pulls
8 hang cleans
8 squat press
8 rounds
After the first round we had to edit the reps down from 8 to 6. This was fine, although I was really gassed at the end. Then came the abs. 4 rounds of 20 of a leg lift , throw your feet down random all over thing….muah! I am tired all over. Time for a dip in the pool. Have a great sundaya all…

Trainer moved. Gym sent the platform and the olympic weights off with him…So I took last week off looking for a break in the routine. Last weekend I wanted to work out, but I needed a new plan. This morning I found one! WOOOHOOOO!!!! Two 30 somethings, (actually a 20 something and a 30 something) , brothers who do a crossfit style workout at my gym asked me to jump in with them. (Actually I saw Jim after work last night, told him my tale of woe, and he invited me to join this morning.) I had worked out with them a little here and there , and little did he know I was desperate to get going again, so I was there bright and early this morning.
40 weighted lunges
15 burpees
30 pushups
40 squats
4 rounds
28:00 min.
Im back.

Its been a whole darn week since I wrote a post. Maybe weekly makes sense…consequently, I am back to reporting on deadlifts…went up in weight to 146 k….sets of 6. I only got 5 sets as my back was kind of creaky. Happy with the weight though.
I tried a fat burner last couple weeks….Atrophex ..started off with a free sample in my Syntha 6….thought that was pretty good, so I bought a box and started in. One day I came home from the gym so lathered up about my workout, and the economic collapse on the radio that I kicked the dog and gave my wife hell…..after apologizing later that day I decided to back off the pills….mebbe Ill use one here and there sparingly, but (4 ) per day aint happening for a while. Which puts me back to simple clean eating…:) should’ve realized that there is no magic pixie dust…

Here we go again! I knew today was a new leg workout, but little did I suspect that that bowling ball was going to plan deads again…( my workout partner, who is also a CPT, likes to plan the workouts. His body is has a low center of gravity. Let’s just leave it at that
SO. Deadlifts. I like the idea of this exercise, but my low back, not so much. I was happy to experience a little pain, but the weight went up there! Six sets of (6) at 140 k. I know he will eclipse me at this, but this was a good start! If I can keep my back flat and lock it in, I cans see going up to 160 or so by the end of this go around. And, I had the added bonus of avoiding a back spasm on the drive home . ( The prequel to this post, about 10 or 12 posts ago, describes this nightmare.) WOOOHOOOOO!!
I am also cycling off creatine. Not such a great time , but is there ever a great time? Maybe the drop in water will cause an ab muscle to peek out!
