I am typing this during a break session since I know Niknak is about ready to whip my azz. LOL T
hanks to all who have been checking on me. This has been a very tough week. I have been off-site at a training class which prohibits me from working my normal schedule. When you top that with the fact that this may be the worse trainer of all time, it makes for a very long day. Add on to that the 1 hour commute one way, and you have the makings of a very tired B. Anyway, I did manage to get in a 40 minute hit session on Tuesday, and will get some sessions in this weekend.
Really looking forward to the trip to Arnold next weekend. I will have my camera ready. Looking forward to meeting everyone in person

Missed my lunchtime outing at the gym yesterday, but I was a good boy and went last night. Gym was packed with young peeps, so I just turned the volume up in my headphones and hit it.
Ran one mile, and then moved on to legs.
Leg extensions – 3 sets (dbl leg then singles) 10 reps – 154 / 55 lbs
Leg press / Calf raises – 4 sets, 10 reps on the press, then 30 calf raises – 450, 540, 630, 720 (plus whatever the machine adds)
Squats – 3 sets, 10 reps – 315 lbs
Legs felt like dead wood when I got done, but I knew I needed the work. Felt good slanging a slightly heavier load. I will keep pushing it. Definitely felt the pump.
Diet was good yesterday really trying to focus there for the next two weeks. Today I think I will hit chest at the gym. I am a little out of order, but will get back on track.

After the light bulb came on for me yesterday, I found myself up early this morning preparing my breakfast and lunch. When I left work about 6 yesterday, I’d consumed 182 grams of carbs, 17 grams of fiber, and 75 grams of protein. Now for someone that weighed 145 lbs at my height, that would be borderline ok. But at 242 lbs., that is not going to cut it.
Yesterday’s breakfast consisted of 500 calories, 114g carbs, 9g fiber, & 9g of protein.
Today’s breakfast, 401 calories, 15g carbs, 6g fiber, & 45g of protein. Some difference huh. LOL
2/18 workout
Biceps – Alt. dumbbell curls – 3 sets, 45 lbs, 10 reps
E-Z Curl Bar – 3 sets, 95 lbs, 10 reps
Machine Preacher – 3 sets, 110 lbs, 10 reps
Hammer curls – 3 sets, 35/20 lbs. 10 reps of each per set.
Triceps – Rope press downs – 3 sets, 145 lbs – 15, 12, 10 reps
Seated dips – 3 sets, 25 reps
Today I will run and do legs. Yea!

Keep It Simple Stupid
For months now I have been to lazy to do what I know I needed to do. Something extremely simple, make a daily food intake log. Well I finally started it. In a word, I was amazed. This morning for breakfast, I had what I thought was a small meal,
1 pack of Strawberry & Crème oatmeal, 1 pack of Raisin & Spice oatmeal, a pack of raisins, a small banana, and a granola bar.
Simple right? I figured maybe 250-300 calories, 35-40 carbs, little or no protein, etc… what I found was baffling.
670 calories, 135g carbs, 13g protein.
I see I will need to really redo my program.
Hump day. Arms are on the agenda for the day. Yeah!

Ah Valentines day! Full of love, romance, bad meals, sugar, chocolate, fast food, etc… I am going back to my friend Scrooge, “Bah HUMBUG!!!” I had to go hit the road this weekend. That meant road food, aka fast food, aka bad dieting. And what made it so bad, is that it wasn’t even good. Pissed me off. When I got on the scale, I was again pissed off. So I got up early and got a good cardio and abs session in. I will say this, I felt all the bad eating kick in. Ms. Treadmill is not nice when you are not doing what you are suppose too.
Treadmill - 20 min – 2.06 miles 450 calories
Stationary Bike - 10 min – 141 calories Total – 30 minutes – 591 calories
Ab roller crunches – 510
Not too bad for day one.

Yet another week in the books and I only got 2 good workouts in so far. Yesterday I ran a mile and did the below chest workout. It has been a while since I hit the weight pile, so it felt good. My strength was surprisingly better than I thought. Guess those push-ups helped. Today I will work shoulders and back. Not sure how much time I will spend in the gym this weekend. Looks like it will be crazy busy. I will try to complete that 5 mile run I been talking about. Happy Valentine’s Day to all the lovely ladies of BB.com. Hope someone takes to time to let you know you are appreciated.
Bench - 3 sets, 10 reps - 225 lbs
Hammer Inclines - 3 sets, 225lbs - 10 reps
Superset - Machine fly / Machine bench press - 3 sets of 10 on each - 170 lbs (fly) / 200 (bench)
Dips - 3 sets 10 reps

Getting old. Left hammy was bothering me on the run, and right quad on the bike. Age… bah humbug!

It was cold today in the A, but I went to the gym anyway. Didn’t want Niknak standing over me ordering push-ups for a lackluster performance.
25 minutes on the treadmill
2.6 miles 563 calories burned. And for Ms. Niknak, the first mile was a 10… personal record:-)

Squats are not my friend, I loathe them so.
Squats are the enemy, I wish they would go.
Squats are like the four letter word, not F#$% or sh**, but snow.
Squats make me feel hate, disgust, but I love to watch my quads grow.
So I will tolerate my legs feeling like rubber,jell-o, and mashed potatoes, and flex, flex, flex till I have diamond cuts to show.
Yes I will keep my day job! LOL
Back on track after the super bowl festivities. Goal was to run an 8 minute mile, but got it in 8:42. Not bad. I will make that my goal for February. Anyway, I did run and do legs today. And yes, the squats had me staggering to the car.
10 minutes on Ms. Treadmill – 1.23 miles, 217 calories
Legs
-Leg extensions - 3 sets, 156 lbs. double leg / 55 lbs single leg (10 reps each)
-Leg press / Calf raises – 1 set, 500 – 10 reps / CR – 30 reps, 2 sets, 590 – 10 reps / 30 reps
- SQUAT – 3 sets, 315 lbs – 10 reps
