Observation… *KLTEXAS YOU GO GURL!!!!!*

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Has anyone else noticed that this contest has increased the number of profile pic changes? I mean there are some really beautiful people on BB.com, but I had NO CLUE that there were so many. They are coming out the woodwork. I give you all mad props. I am going back to “Insert picture here.” LOL

Good work people!!!!

I finally made it to the gym last night. 25 minutes of treadmill work.

2.5 miles, 497 calories

Also hit my abs pretty hard. I definitely was feeling them when I left. Love it.

Today is beggars’ night. All the kiddies wanting things bad for them. Then we will have a month of hyperactive children running around.  A mess, but it is what it is. I think I will try to sneak over to the gym late and get some additional cardio in since I was unable to leave my desk AGAIN today. At least I was able to get the issue resolved for my client. I feel good about that.

Anyone have any big weekend plans?

Oh. KLTEXAS!!!!!! ROCK THE HOUSE!!!!! Good luck this weekend!

Hump Day Recall

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

My Hump Day

Short version for those that don’t have time for details.

-         No gym

-         Horrible Diet

-         No cardio

-         Very stressed

-         Have a nice day

Now if you have time, you can read the below.

It is funny how people influence you at a subconscious level. As I review my Wednesday, the great author and BB friend ShanBL came to mind. Her ability to expand on topics in a Seinfeld manner is unmatched in the blog world. So in her honor, I give you… Hump Day Vent

Why is it that when you have your day planned and meals prepared that things just don’t work out the way you want?  Tuesday night, I packed my gym bag, lunch bag, and put them in the same spot I do every morning. Well of course I get a call from a client at 7 that had me rushing to get into the office to resolve it. In my haste, I forgot my lunch. No problem right, Publix is right down the street. I can pick up something there. WRONG. My day was so chaotic, that I didn’t look up until 2:35 pm. Now my stomach feels like it is in my back, the milk duds on my co-workers desk are callin me like I am a crack feign, and I have a 3 PM meeting that I cannot miss.

“Hey! There’s an Arby’s on the corner. I will go get a nice healthy salad.” Me talking to myself cause I am disciplined :-)

“Sorry sir. We are out of salads.”  WTF!!!

Now it is 2:50, and I have to get back for my meeting. (Not a lot of healthy rush choices at that place). Anyway I ended up with a Market Fresh Sub. Why was the bread all hard and stale?

Just ruined it for me. So I have wolfed down this nasty azz sandwich, and have to run to my meeting. I am thinking to myself its cool, because I can just run it off at the gym. WRONG AGAIN! I was at work till 7, and I have an hour commute. Oh happy day!

(As I drove by the mall I thought of Shannon and her adventures in the Dressing Room. Is the light correct? Never mind.)

Ok, so now I am home, and it’s almost 8pm. My stomach is definitely growling on my spine. What to do, what to do. “What is cooked for dinner?”  MEATLOAF. At this point I am so tired, so drained, that I simply make a plate and try to enjoy…. Oh what is this? The World Series is already over? How do you play half a game?

Ok now its 9, I am done eating, and I did not go to the gym. Its late, I am tired. A wasted day. Bad Diet, No Cardio, No gym! Bad day! My Hump Day!

Day 3

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

I am feeling pretty good. Another day, another pound gone this morning. WooHoo!

Did upper body yesterday. Hit it hard and fast. Special thanks to Ms Fitness for the advice. I will incorporate it into my workout this evening. (Her abs are SICK).

Did my usual 5 minute warm up, but this time at 7.1 on the treadmill. Was winded, but felt pretty good. We will see if it impacts my HIIT training this evening. Plan on going 30 minutes and doing abs.

Hope everyone else is enjoying there Tuesday. Check out my homie KLTexas! She is competing this weekend. She is the number 1 Stunna!!!!!

Bad Weekend- But good start to the challenge

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Ok, so I kicked it hard this weekend. Went out Friday & Saturday night. Ate late, and had the dreaded pizza both days. This morning I got on the scale and was force to see the fruits of my labor….. 237.8 lbs. PAINFUL indeed. So I believe I have it all out my system. Sunday I was committed to the "Unwrap your abs for Christmas" challenge.

Day one I did my long cardio. 50 minutes with 4.5 miles, 700 calories burned. Diet had been good, so I am feeling good  about moving forward.  Tomorrow will be upper body and some cardio.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Shannon, I will save the link to the Steeler posing gear. I am sure you will want it soon:-)

Day 4 - Legs

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Had a crazy day at work. Had to abbreviate my leg workout.  What I did was listed below.

5 min warmup on the treadmill (0.57 miles, 111.8 calories)

Leg extensions - 3 sets (Double legs 177lbs, single legs - 66 lbs, 10 reps)

Leg Press / Calf Raises - 3 sets 10 reps LP (540lbs, 630 lbs, & 720 lbs) / 20 reps (same weight amounts)

Squat - 3 sets (315 lbs - 10 reps)

Then I had to bounce. Diet was not to bad.

Protein shake w/ oatmeal

Oatmeal w/ raisins

Madarin Chicken Salad

Apple

Chunky Sirloin Steak & veg soup

I know too much sodium, but it is what it is. Hump day indeed. Catch you all tomorrow.

Day 3 - Back in the groove

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Ok, So I am back in the swing of things after fighting off the dreaded flu bug. Sunday I went to the gym and upper body. I added in a few extra exercises and did some supersets. Let me tell ya, it felt GOOD!!!! Of course when I woke up yesterday the mild soreness gave me a rush.

Yesterday I barely made it through a 20 minute HIIT session. My goal is 20 minutes 2 miles. I was worried I wouldn’t make it, but I did. Yea!!!

Today I will do 40 minutes of cardio in an effort to get down 3 lbs by the weekend. I have also located some aerobic tapes I use to use. I may pop on of those in this evening.

As for my diet….

Breakfast – 2 eggs w/ salmon & ¼ cup of cheddar.

Meal 2 will be ON Protein Shake with oatmeal

Hoping everyone is having a Terrific Tuesday!

Sick all week

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

So I know it’s been awhile since I wrote anything. Hell it feels like forever since I been in the gym. All around me people were catching this flu bug, and I fought for 3 weeks. It hit me hard this week. Started with the aches and chills. Moved to the sore throat, now I got the dry cough and no wind. I almost had to double over after walking up 3 flights of steps. Amazing how one week can change things completely.

To top that off, I haven’t made it to the grocery store, so I had pizza for lunch. I know… SHAME ON ME!!! Now I want to go lay down again. I feel the weight growing on me.

Tomorrow I will get off my lazy azz and get started again. 6 days on, 1 day off. Depending on my wind, I may try a few two-a-days. We will see. Until then I will continue to be the lazy one. I have already caught up on all my shows, now I am watching football. Ah… Weekends in the fall. Gotta love it!

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Early in da morning!

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

So feeding off yesterdays inspiration, I got my sleep a$$ up and hit the gym. I got there, still had sleep in my eyes, but I did 2.25 miles in a HIIT session. I will say I am awake here at work now. It will be interesting to see how I feel about 3 pm. Mr. Sandman may start swinging.

So we have 3.5 weeks until Election Day. I can already feel the circus starting to crank up. Are you glad we have the gym, treadmill, open pavement, free weights, and machines as a refuge?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hump Day!

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Ok, so I am in a rut. I’d been stuck between that 232-234 lbs. range for about a month now. I have been battling the 8:30 – 9:30 munchies monster for the past 3 weeks and losing bad. Yesterday I was chatting with my BB.com friends, Lisa, Shannon, Sparkie, & KLTexas and realized I needed to pick up my intensity. So I woke up to a very intense core workout. Abs are on fire Lisa. I am trying to have a good ab dayJ

I plan on getting 3 miles in at lunch today and waking up tomorrow and hitting legs. Goal for October will be to focus on the diet and core. Until I get my BF % analyst, I will not put any numeric goals out there. So hopefully in a couple weeks I will be ready to put some number with it.

Hope everyone is ready for this hump day! I sure am. Thanks again to my peeps for showing me the way!
