Feels good!
Ok, so I about died the first time I tried the HIIT training. So today was day two. I started out with 15 minutes at 5.5. Slow I know, but I wanted to complete the whole thing. After that I did my first four 1 minute sprints at 9.0. When I did the last one I did 9.5. I followed this by running at 5.5 for the remaining 15 minutes.
How did I feel. GREAT!!!! I was tired, and my t-shirt was soaked (Yes, I am a big boy. I SWEAT) LOL, but I felt a sense of accomplishment. I am stoked. I have to do some yard work, so I know I will get about 45 minutes of additional cardio in. Today is a good day.

I knew I was not in shape, but all it took was one attempt at the beginners HIIT to prove that I am WAY out of shape.
I did the first 15 minutes at 5.5 on the treadmill and felt pretty good. Then I cranked it up to 9 and went for 60 seconds. This was followed by the 1 minute walking. My heart rate was @ 186, but when back down to 156. I repeated this 2 more time before I took a good look in the mirror. The sweat was pouring off me. My legs felt heavy and they ached. I was determined to get through it though. The 4th and 5th sprints I did at 8.5, but when I finished, I tried to do the moderate run at 5.5 I was good for about 3 minutes, and had to take it down. I went another 3 minutes before finally taking it down to 4.1 which is a brisk walk for the remainder of my time.
I was disappointed that I could not complete the second 15, but encouraged that I kept moving, and did not quit. I also monitored the calories burned, and distance. I will go at it again Monday. I will admit I haven’t been that spent after a cardio workout in years. I am actually looking forward to the next go around.

Had a company function yesterday that kept me from hitting the gym last night, but I am going to have a great weekend. I plan on getting 3-5 hours of cardio in, and a little weight training (can’t resist). No more excuses. Weather should not be a factor, so I hope to get some sunshine too. I do have a party to attend tomorrow, so I will have to maintain my discipline.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

I have been consistently losing 1-2 lbs each week. No matter what the situation, I was able to consistently maintain my diet & workout schedule. Well that was up until this week. I fell back into my habit of leaning on sweets to comfort me. I let the situation I was dealing with get the best of me. Before I knew it, I ended up having a really bad day. When I got on the scale the next day, I was mad at myself. I did hit the gym hard, but there is only so much one can do. Needless to say, I don’t think I will show improvement at this weeks weigh in. It’s sad, because I ran personal best in the mile, and did some outdoor activities on Saturday along with some cardio.
Anyway, I am refocused, and will not allow myself to fall so hard again. I want to thank my online buddies that have helped push me through. Feels like we are on the same team.
I will be back soon. Looking forward to the ATL show & meeting a number of you.

Ok, so I have been really watching my diet, and increasing my cardio. My weight is not dropping like a rock (which is ok), but I do see where the inches are falling off. I am actually up to a 4 pack. LOL.
Anyway, I have really focused on strengthening my core. My abs are tighter than they have been in years. Diet is more reflex now then binge eating. So I am happy with that. Clothes are beginning to fall off me. Problem is now I am at a crossroad.
My weight and size loss has been primarily in my legs and waist. While that should be ok, I was told from the waist down I look like a toothpick now. I know how to lift for size/mass, but my goal is to reduce overall size. Thus my diliema. Do I continue on my reduction path which compromises muscle, or do I hit the weight pile, which is like a drug to me. I remember pushing 425 up and being so geeked, I was becoming aroused. Now that was an extreme case, but you get my point.
I am reading information different techniques. Weigh-in is tomorrow. I am about to go run. Hope to hit my 8 year low. I have only been under 240 once since I moved to the A. I am real close.

Well day one is about over with, and I have been a good boy. I woke up and went for a run this morning. I dont have a gym, but have been doing the push-ups. Both regular and incline. I will work abs and lower back. Went to a local restaraunt called Crispers (Salad spot, national franchise). I have the Chicken Salad. It was very good. I was impressed. It was also much better than anything from the local fast food joints. I am hoping to get an evening walk in of a couple miles. If not, then maybe some basketball or if it rains I will jump some rope. My goal is to come in at least at the same or lighter than I was last week. So without the weights, am hoping to real cardio in and drop some of this water weight. Hope it works out. I will check back later in the week.
