Phase II

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Okay, so I did not reach all my initial goals. I primarily did some lifting and softball. I can see that my limited exposure to cardio was my downfall. Thankfully I work with some people with different training goals. One is training for a marathon, on is in a "biggest loser" competition and is 29lbs lighter. Another is just an organic junkie.  Though I dont get into detailed conversations with them, I do listen to them going back and forth. The competitive nature in me is rekindled, because I am tired of listening to the chatter.

Last week another coworker, same height as me mention that he notice I’d dropped some weight. I told him about 10 lbs. He said good and mention that he was down about 8 and would have to catch me. Now he is thinking about going into personal training and is about the weight I was in high school. I said, "man if I start running you wouldn’t even get close. I have more water weight to shed than you could shed in a year." He of course took it as a challenged. Unfortunately he stated talking trash, and there is nothing I like more than putting a big mouth in his place.

I told him that he didn’t want to go there, but he insisted. So now I have given him a week headstart since I am on vacation this week. I will begin some serious cardio and modify my program to reduce the bulk muscle gain and streamline. We will go till the end of July. This will help me with my short term goals. So I am on a mission. I plan on doing a little running while on vacation, so hopefully I will be ready to turn it up a notch when I return on the 6th.

Getting Started

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

I have been going back and forth on commitment for a little over a month now. I would start for a few days then come up with an excuse to stop for a day. Well that day would drag to a few days, then a week. But this week past week I have been in everyday. I can feel the difference already. Amazing how the body will snap back if you stay with it.  I was a little sore, but thats to be expected. My goal is 25-30 lbs by the end of the year. I usually hit that plateau about 240lbs. I snuck a weigh in this morning and I am down another pound. I don’t weigh in officially until Thursday, so i will have to maintain my diet and add the cardio in. Cardio seems to be my area of weakness behind diet. I am going to keep at it though.

I will say I am inspired by the posting out there. Some of you guys are phenominal.  Keep up the good work
