1131 was the magic number today! I went to the gym preparing to do 20 minutes of cardio and hopefully burn 250-300 calories, but about 15 minutes in I felt so good I thought I might as well go 30. At 25 minutes I thought "I’ll go 40 since I feel so good." I ended up going one hour and burning 1131 calories. I was so beyond myself. I’ve never EVER burned that many calories in one session. I’m sure plenty of people may burn that in 30 minutes, but that was a new record for me. After I was done I felt like I was still moving…it was a very weird feeling. I had to come straight home and eat something considering that was twice the amount of calories I had consumed up until that point for the day. I honestly think that the Garbage drink I’m using is giving me more sustained energy throughout the day. Either that or working out is. Probably the later. Anyway I hope everybody doing the MT/BB.COM Transformation Contest is doing well and progressing nicely.

Nothing frustrates me more than missing a workout due to poor planning! I was all ready to get up @ 5:00 this morning and be at the gym busting my butt. However, when I set my alarm I forgot that I took off the "Weekday’s" option for New Years day and that it wouldn’t go off at all. Do to this not only did I miss my workout this morning I woke up late and didn’t get to eat my oatmeal. Thank God I had the foresight to boil a bunch of eggs so I could at least still get my protein in. I was late to work and of course feces rolls downhill so the rest of my day was rushed. I prepared my meals good so I did have those with me. Three small flank steaks and brown rice, Large Chicken breast and sweet potatoes baby food and a protein shake. Hopefully tomorrow being a Saturday will work out better, but then again weekends bring on more temptations.

Today, Jan. 1, 2009 is a day that will I will never forget. I have made a choice to transform my life spiritually, financially, and of course physically. My journey has begun. Everyone knows the chinese proverb that says "The journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step." I just took my step. I went to the gym today @ 12 and had a good workout. I started with legs since today is Thursday. I did squats, leg presses, leg extensions, hack squats, calf raises, and some hamstring curls. I have eaten pretty well today too. I woke up around ten and had oatmeal and eggs. I worked out around 12 and had a protein shake afterward. Around 3:00 I had 3 small flank steaks with a baked potato. I had a protein shake around 6:00 and I’m eating a large chicken breast, brown rice, and french green beans for dinner as I type this. I will have a casein protein shake before I hit the sack around 10. Tomorrow I will start out early at 5 am.

Today I had the ultimate insult which I will use as ultimate motivation. I am the manager of a bank here in Knoxville, TN. I had a customer tell me that "it looked like I visited the same health spa as Philip Fulmer." For any of you who may not know, Philip Fulmer is the previous coach of the University of Tennessee football team and is not known for having a six pack…more like a keg. I was honestly dumbfounded when I heard him say it, but it reminded me why I am going to enter into the Muscletech/Bodybuilding.com Transformation Contest in the first place. I want to be a healthy person that people look up to. I want to be able to help people have more confidence.

To everyone who reads this post I hope you will follow me as I transform my body from a doughy 285 lbs. to a hard 200 lbs. I will be posting before pictures on Jan. 1 as I will be competing in the Muscletech/Bodybuilding.com Transformation Contest. I hope to inspire other people that are in the same predicament I am in currently to take the challenge of a lifetime and shed their unwanted fat as well. Hopefully come Sept. 1 2009 I will be able to step on the scale and see 200 lbs. and know that I am in total control of my body. Please stay tuned as I think this will be a great blog to watch.
