Well I woke up Saturday morning and felt pretty good so I went and joined the gym again - I felt so happy with myself for doing so that I decided a carb up was on the cards. Went home for breakfast to find my partner making pancakes and waffles for breakfast (his two daughters aged 10 and 11 are staying for the weekend and we always eat badly when they are here). Oh my god, I had 2 huge buttermilk pancakes with icecream and syrup and then 2 waffles with cream and syrup. I should have been uncomfortably full but for some reason when I’m carbing up I never feel full, ever. So I had a sandwich and 2 cups for tea with milk and sugar. Yummo, haven’t eaten this well in ages - so well in fact, I fell asleep in front of the fire right after breakfast lol. Woke up and surprise surprise, I was hungry again - had some oats and some cornflakes and did a bit of a workout and some washing to burn it all off. Ok so hungry again after that, had 2 bowls of cornflakes and 2 bowls of rice bubbles then a baked potato. Is there something wrong with me because I seem to be an eating machine, I never stop!!?? We had satay chicken and a huge plate of potatoes and corn on the cob for dinner, then watched a movie and ate a big bag full of sugar coated popcorn. Well…never again for the popcorn let me tell you….all this sugar so close to bed time after not eating it for so long….took me about 4 hours to get to sleep and had weird dreams all night long. I will never learn

It’s been a long time since I visited here, well it’s actually been 6 months - during which I have not picked up a weight or exercised at all (photos to come - quite scary actually). So I gave up training because of a few family problems and kinda just let myself go… fast forward 6 months and here I am, with about 20% bf (jiggly bits and all) and I am desperate to get lean and hard again. I’m entering a 12 week body blitz competition and even though I won’t win - I just want to challenge myself to try and get that elusive six pack back. Just looking in the mirror upsets me because I worked my ass off to get as lean as I was in December and now it feels like I really let myself down and I feel gross. So I’m back on the keto diet and training 4 days a week at home (havent got a gym membership yet so my exercises are a bit limited). Stay tuned because I need support and motivation to get this fat off my ass

Ok so I went out last night and had every intention of just having a couple of drinks (making sure it was vodka & diet coke)….but a few turned into a LOT, and they definately were not sugar free. I think I would have had at least 15 drinks…cowboy shots, yaegar bombs, scotch and coke, beer…you name it i drank it. And I paid for it today, I was so sick all morning!!! Oh yeah, then there was the whole pizza I ate on the way home this morning…..hmmm it felt so good to just be ‘normal’ again for a day lol

Well this week on my back/bicep day I had to rush through the workout because I had to be at done and at work in 75min. Surprisingly enough I got 8 reps up on the 220lb deadlift (using the reverse grip) even though I was rushing like a mad woman and hardly taking a rest between sets. On another note, I switched up my diet this week, cutting out dairy and increasing my omega 3 fats (especially flaxseed oil). I feel so much better for it, all that processed cheese and double cream I was eating I suspected was was making me feel sluggish (I’ve been feeling tired throughout the whole day and lacking energy the past week or so and I think this was why).

I made it!!! I got 5 reps up before I had to put it down because my lifting hooks were cutting into my wrists (and yep I got the scars now to prove it lol). I will use more padding this week and go for 8 reps. I had a huge carb up eating about 1,000 cals over maintenance this weekend so my strength should be good for the rest of the week although I had to work all weekend also so I haven’t had a break in 14 days (hopefully this won’t affect my training).

I’m doing my back workout today which means….it’s deadlift time!! I have this goal of lifting 220lbs by the end of November but I feel good today so Ima give it a shot I think. I got these new lifting hooks to strap to my wrists so I can’t drop the bar, I’m so excited to give them a try….

For some reason I am absolutely loving my leg workouts this week. For 4 weeks I am doing 2-3 leg days a week (one of those days combined with shoulders) just to try and get some glutes happening. My favourites are probably the squats and barbell lunges which I did with a big grin on my face today (looking like a dork I bet). The harder I train, the more my metabolism speeds up, my trainer says I have a Formula 1 metabolism lol so I have increased my calories again to try and gain a bit of weight. This week I discovered coconut cream - 13g fat per 80ml and oh my god it tastes awesome cooked with eggs or mixed with jelly instead of water or just on its own. I’m trying to have a can of it a day (400ml = 65g fat). I can easily eat 5 chicken breasts a day which sounds ridiculous for someone of my size but my appetite is out of control - I have half a tub of double cream right before bed so I don’t wake up starving in the middle of the night but by breakfast I just about run to the kitchen to eat!! Speaking of which, time for some dessert (coconut pudding, recipe is in keto recipe section of forum).

I got my bf down to just under 16% this week so that was pretty exciting but it made me even more determined to reduce it down to about 12% by the end of the year. It’s slowly coming down and I’m not reducing my calories and in fact I am eating more than I was when my bf was higher.

This is my second carb up….I get so excited planning all these good foods to eat that I can’t eat during the week while on keto..then by the weekend I actually get to eat them and it’s a bit like Christmas - always a big hype then a let down lol. I mean the foods are ok, but not as good as I thought and I always find myself missing all the fatty foods I eat during the week. My metabolism has gone through the roof lately and I’ve increased my calories by at least 500 a day but still can’t gain even half a kg…it’s ridiculous, the more I eat the more my metabolism speeds up. I think my muscle definition has improved but my weight is still exactly the same.. wierd I know. I don’t know if I can possibly eat any more….since when isn’t 6 huge meals enough? Speaking of which, gotta go eat another one right now.

After the worst day ever yesterday (back and biceps), I made a comeback today with the chest and tri’s. And we did the bodyfat measurements and thank god I am down to 17% which is 4% less than when I started eating ketogenically (about 2 weeks ago). My strength was down yesterday but I was just having a shit of a day (this bitch in the gym was working out at the same time as I was and kept cutting into all my sets (I was doing tri sets) so yeah she distracted me and I didn’t sleep well Sunday night either. But last night I popped a valium and slept like a baby and had a good run at the gym today. Tomorrow I am starting a calf and abs day to break up my training week (which is usually Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri) because I have chicken legs (well the bottom half anyway) and need to get them working a bit harde, and the abs, well I want that elusive six pack so I’m going to hit them hard tomorrow as well.
