End of the year and as 90+% use the blogs for the sole purpose of bragging ; i am going to do the same! In january 2007; i weighed in at around 352lbs, so i decided to change it. I never met a trainer i trusted [ the ones that i did come into contact with , only loved themselves and expected all others to worship them - the craven image thing gone ËL loco". So trusting only myself and my wife , i returned to the gym and began high intensive cardio with some weight training .I increased the cardio each week - either the degree of difficulty or the time or just the speed and following a calorie control plan [ again the world of dieting is full of cranks ] the weight began to drop. By june i was in the 290’s and still dropping but faster due to the weather and an increase in work outs. I never expected to make my cut off target of 220lbs this year and indeed i am 14lbs short but i now weigh 234lbs and to be honest i have slowed the loss to cover skin shrinkage [ the last thing i need is surgery for skin tucks]. I have changed course a little and in the new year i am going to try and bodybuild [ my friends in the ov35 forum have persuaded me to give it a go] but i vow that never will i return to the bad old days of fatness. Bragging over - normal service will be resumed tomorrow. Happy new year.

End of the year so for you mere mortals; its resolution time. So whats it gonna be? For me - i never make resolutions; i only plan goals! You see most people see them as one and the same; but they are not. I never heard a football commentator shout “what a resolution” A goal is a target - a resolution is a pledge to make a change. For me a goal is carved in stone - a resolution is something said in passing ; a solution to a question.Anyway - my new years wish to you all - MAY YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS  : HAPPY NEW YEAR

Sometimes i am a man of few words; especially on blogs. Maybe its that i have little to say or that i have little of relevance. One thing that does strike me every time that i read blogs is the constant repetition of the core theme — MOTIVATION. Well it comes from within -Doesn’t it? Its a state of mind!

My dollars worth!

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

For adults ; we can certainly act like children and it would seem like those at kindergarten. I can’t believe that bloggers are still bleating on about this porn or art pic thing ; especially as the original post was entered by a blogger in a skimpy outfit. Couple that with the outrageous and blatant advertising that seems to be the sole purpose of some writing blogs and often the blogs have the feel of MTV or even worse - The National Enquirer. Its perfectly natural that those who bodybuild want to show the body off and hey ! this ain’t the bible channel. As Bryangee commented you can see worse on the tv  - and your children shouldn’t be surfing this site anyway. Then today the bleat that 2 of the top 6 female hits are teens - well what planet did they come down from? The young always get attention. At the end of the day we are either a bodybuilding site or the reincarnation of mother theresa and when i joined it was a bodybuilding site - so i would expect to see naked flesh within reason and i think it is within reason. My message - you don’t have to look ; so put up and shut up .

Anybody notice the blatant advertising that occurs on bodyblogs almost everyday.Unbelievable and if you have got to advertise on bodyblogs - disturbingly SAD!

Day off tomorrow as i have done 6 days straight. It will soon be resolution time and for many it will be dieting given that christmas is just past. In England the day after christmas is called "boxing day"due to the fact that the gentry would pass the boxes of unwanted presents down to the servants. In 1948 Boxing Day fell on easter monday in a 3 mile chase - so trivial pursuiters [ does anyone still do that!] thats a piece of useless info.

Am i alone or as anybody else noticed how many bodybuilders are "devout"believers in god ? In this modern age when traditional values are constantly eroded to a point that many are either worthless or seen as a harbour for the eccentric ; i find it reassuringly touching that so many are not afraid to profess their faith!

as the new year rapidly approaches and christmas recedes for another year - many will look back and reflect ; make a resolution for the new year and most will break that resolution by the end of january. so the question is this? why do people make resolutions that they cannot or will not keep? ts it tradition or just plain lack of will?

i don’t write as many blogs as i could because i spend more time on the forum area and tend to favour that arena . blogging is a bit like a diary and i am not Samuel Pepys and never likely to be. However it is fun to read others and its a nice form of relaxation.I think that the blogs is a useful feature of the site and a useful way of contact with otther like minded users.
