ABS for TIME

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

I was totally in the zone today…I first started with a cardio warm-up using the elliptical and then moved on to my timed sets of abdominal exercises. Lastly, I timed a set of 1000 crunches. I was focused the whole time. I had music flowing and I felt every note of it…the percussion of the band raging on, the timing of the drums directing, the guitar’s pinching harmonics, and the roaring vocals helped the drive that I put forth moving my blood throughout. Kill Switch Engage…plus M-Stack by UNIVERSAL…awesome freaking combination!!

WORKOUT:

Elliptical warmup: 10 min

Timed set 1: 3 min 33 sec
Incline sit-ups x20 reps

Reverse crunch x20 4 count reps

lower back raise x 20 4 count reps

Side-bends x 20 each side w/ 35 lbs plate

rest 1min 30sec
Timed set 2: 2 min 47sec

rest 1min

Timed set 3: 2min 39 sec

rest 30sec

Timed set 4: 2min 34sec

1000 crunches timed: 11min 1 sec

200 reg crunches, 200 oblique crunches (each side), 200 crunches legs at approx 45 degree angle, 200 crunches prone on back.

In the words of the Koolaid Man, "OH YEAH!"

Getting used to the air at 6000+ feet

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Finally moved to Colorado and I have to tell you that this place holds an intense amount of energy. Everything just feels different and you see things in a wider aspect…its just beautiful. The mountains…the rolling land…the low clouds and before you know it, the snow is falling. The sun comes out and it is all renewed and the cycle begins again…breathtaking. The wind speaks here.
So I ventured out and found places to run. My body can still hold and move to its full extent but WOW my lungs are not used to it. They burn and ache so to as I am to catch my breath but I can still sprint. the burn and ache feels good to let me know that I am still alive. I am slowly adapting and becoming more acclimated to the air, I just have to get out and continue to run. Four miles every other day…tomorrow is one of them…so here I go off back into the world where the wind speaks as I howl.

New Record

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Well I broke my all time record and am happy about it…Did 78 push ups in 2 minutes then 78 situps in 2 minutes and after ran a 12min 43 sec 2mile would have been faster but had to stop to tie my shoe on the first mile…arrrgghh. I was upset about it for a second but decided to use that energy and place it into my run to push me just that much harder and it worked. Needed 2 more situps though…next time…next time.

New Combination of workouts

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Well yesterday I started a 5×5 program…and DAMN I am sore, but it is a good kinda feeling knowing that you achieved and hit your target muskles(muscles, I’m a dork I know, tis the kid in me). Did Flat bench 205lbs 5 reps per set for 5 sets last ones were killer. Then did 5×5 on squat with 300lbs, tri extentions using both arms on a 90lb dumbell 3setsx5reps, and then dips body weight I strayed from the 5×5 and did 3setsx15reps, and then a 2 mile run for time of 13min 18sec..

Today I did my ab workout with a quick warmup with side bends with a 60lb dumbell, lower back raises, and leg extentions, reverse crunches before doing 1000 crunches…200 front, 200 oblique right, 200 oblique left, 200 front with legs about 45 degree angle, and then 200 legs close in at body. To finish I didtwo sets of superman back extentions of 15 reps and then the reverse way to touch the ground. Hell yeah!!

What a day!!

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Well I didn’t do the spin class like what was intended…no…instead I did something more interesting!! I was turned to a Crossfit workout by a friend(kinda challenged actually lol), Stormiorsini, that was killer and kicked my butt!! I have only done air squats and burpees to box before but this….wooo….this was awesome!! I conduted the ‘Murph"!! Man I kicked my own butt… lmao!!

I didn’t time it overall next time I do one I will…I timed it in idividual sets…I would probaly add another 3 min for the rest times I took…which is ok I guess for a beginner at this!!

Did the first mile in 6min 30sec, 100 pullups 7min 50 (yeah I know weak haha), 200 push ups 9min, 300 squats 8min46,and last mile 7min 50.

This was an awesome workout and it totally got me hooked!!! My stomach felt like it was going to turn inside out in the middle of the workout though…I kept thinking no..no..no..not here!! lol I was good though..I will try this again maybe next week and see where I am at on it…wonder what I will do tomorrow…hmmmm

Other than that I have been steadily working on my art…I am still painting the same that is in the videos and should be done I would say no later than that of mid November and am working on a Tat for a friend and it should be done tonight!!!

Thanks for the challenge and direction…and to all that read this and listen…

Brandon

For all who do this…I have a higher respect for you now!!

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Oh man so I went to a spin class yesterday and it was crazy!!! My legs are still aflame!! My calves are screaming..but it is a good scream…bwarhahaha!! Back on track….I was at a spin class and have seen others do it in the past just in passing but didn’t know what all it had entailed before and jumped into it head first!! Though it was quite awesome and plan on doing it again today around 5pm or so!! But wow I was so engulfed in all the energy that was in the room and moving to the musick and then up pedling and down and up and down and hover without bouncing and then sprint and….well you get the ultimate picture it was insane!!! WOOOOOO! But then when I got home…I still have stairs to climb…thinking to myself,"Oh you’re funny!!" But I did legs the day prior and Shoulders and lats the day of the spin class as well…so I think I get an E for effort!! All in all it was a total blast and look forward to doing it again!!

To all that listens much appriciation!! To all that have done this class before or much like it or any type of cardio where you end up not moving for days… lol… or at least not wanting to…much respect for your determination and will!!

Echoes in the Wind that travel ever so far…

So much energy!!

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

I am partially a little late on this..Well this is my third installment of many to come…I reached my first goal on flat bench..I was so stoked..It hurt but was good at the same time!! Bwarrrhahaha!!

I would like to thank all those who said to keep pushing and you will get there!! You have all(ya’ll) helped me move ever forward!!

Stormiorsini- for all the energy, advice, inspiration and spirit!!

bhotex-for the supplement advice MSTACK..YEE YEE Texas!!

RK1228-For the inspiration of staying in shape so long as I wish to do the same!

Rage-For telling me to just do it dammit! Hope you made it back safe bro!

Lately I have had so much energy coursing through me..So much adrenaline pumping!! You feel like you can take on just about anything!! Yeah! I was in the zone, I get a little loud sometimes(sorry)!

I plug the music into my head..and I find myself moving and lifting to it..the drums..the intense vocalization and guitars all in unison!! In complete focus!! It happens every time!! But sometimes so much energy is raised it has to be released and every center opens and find myself in such a deep state of meditation.

Yeaterday similar to yesterday lol, my workout was forearms and and bi’s.. the music was echoing through my blood and the weights seemed to move themselves 2 hours in the making I was done with all that I had set forth to do!! My energy was still there so intense!! So Intense!! I have Lats With Shoulders tonight!!

Seeing the results

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

I have slightly been progressing little by little, and seeing the results in the process. I have had great motivation lately and very eager to dive into the gym and try to take it on.. Lately I have been feeling so much energy in the air helping me progress in my goals paving the way to what is in sight.. I have about 7 days left to meet my short term goal of 220 on bench and am so stoked right now ohhh…. you don’t even know. Thanks for all who listens!!

How it all began dun dun dun…..

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Well, my thirst for it all began in 2001. I wanted a whole new physical me. Of sound and mind me spiritually was already ok. So I set out. I didn’t know what the hell I was doing!! I tried different workouts and I started to give up, I had no motivation. Workout after workout nothing really worked, I didn’t realize at the time you had to break yourself down before you build back up.

So it took a while before I got in the habit of things correctly. I gave up on it for a while. I had started college and was working I thought I had no time for it. I was more consentrating on my Art degree than anything else (which I am still working towards) and focusing more on spirtuality.

It wasn’t until 2003 that I finally grasped the concept. Military broke me down and then built me back up more ways than one. But it was only endurance that I had. Well time past, came and gone. My routine was only what I was told to do, nothing extra. Still wasn’t eating exactly healthy either.

I went back to school and being a Soldier at the same time, I saw other doing it so why not me right? Took more art classes and some General ed that I needed. But as I was doing this I noticed I was gaining weight because my pant size went up 3 x in 1 1/2 months. I said wait one minute, I just bought these sob’s this is fbs. Started reading more into the whole system of being and got really focused and balanced. Started to act upon what I needed to do and set goals.

I started just lifting my body weight doing physical training twice a day. For about 9 months I did this in 2007. I started hitting the weights in the gym just as of November 2007 and loving every minute of it. Every now and again I lose my center though and must regain my balance and ground. I find it again every time though. But now my goals are to achieve a 300 lb bench and gain 25 lbs of muscle, so I am now traveling down that road, however long it may be and continuing to keep sight everything.
