I went to GNC last night because it’s the beginning of the month, which is sale time there. I went for protein powder and multivitamin. While there I overheard the clerks talking with a few different people about different supplements. At the time I was thinking, oh, maybe I should try this or that, but then thought about my experience. I have tried a some different things but can’t say that X did Y for any of them. Superpump250 keeps me up in the evening when it’s time to sleep, but other than that nothing has done much. Maybe a little more pump, but in the long run what counts is progress: progressive poundages (strength increases) and muscle growth.

I haven’t been pushing / lifting with the intensity Jason reported yesterday, so until I can do that, it seems that the money I have spent on supplements has been a waste. Even all that extra protein hasn’t amounted to anything either.

Last night I wrote that I had one scoop in the afternoon, about an hour before my workout, which was 1530. I normally get up at about 0500 and try to have lights out by 2130. Last night the last time I bothered to look at the clock it was a little after 2300 and I was still wide awake. I was not wide awake at 0500 this morning.

This is what has happened before when I have taken SuperPump250 before. I tried taking it for a week or so when I first bought it. Maybe it’s because I don’t drink coffee that the caffeine (i before e except after c, w, ff, etc.) hits me so hard. SuperPump250 is not my friend.

GNC’s Mass XXX

I’ll been using GNC’s Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein powder, but bought their Mass XXX last time I was at the store and opened the huge vat today. Today is a recovery day, so I’m trying it. The recommended amount is four scoops, which is 50g protein. The scoop is bigger than the Pro Perf one, so four scoops of that is a lot of something, which is carbs. I tried two scoops, to get the usual amount of protein I take at a time, ~20g, in this case actually 25g.

On workout days or other recovery days, I’ll see how I like it, if I notice a difference, so far it just seems like a lot of powder and it doesn’t mix well.

Anybody want to comment on the stuff? Thanks.
