music
People are getting the idea that I’m a fan of country music. I have a four country CDs (best of Johnny Cash, Tanya Tucker, Steve Holly, best of Patsy Cline), and as I commented on Al’s profile, don’t have any cowboy boots, hats, or belt buckles. It’s just something different when the other radio stations aren’t playing BOSTON
… there aren’t any Hawaiian stations here and my wife’s new car has satellite radio but not my ten-year-old one.
I don’t listen to music while I workout (at home), but people who do like upbeat stuff to get moving.
Music that do I like? Wide range of tastes. Classic rock, of course, like hmmm, BOSTON, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Rush, (older) Tom Petty and the HBs, Elvis. NOT Jimi Hendricks or the Doors. Of course, not rap or hip hop. Some crooners like Sinatra, Dean Martin. "Classical", like Beethoven (symphonies and piano concertos), Rachmaninoff, other piano work, not so much Mozart. Not opera. Other instrumental work like Kitaro. Hawaiian music (Keali’i Reichel, Na Leo Pilimehana, Hapa, Israel Kamakawiwo’ole), including slack key guitar (Sonny Lim, Keola and Kapono Beamer, Gabby Pahinui).

Fleetwood Mac was the most awesome concert I have been to. Some of my wife’s family that lives in NYC think that all we do is listen to country music and ride horses….You have some cool stuff up there.

Love listening to Frank Sinatra. In his Big Band & Swing prime, in the mid-late 50’s, he was the epitome of cool.
Good stuff Brad. Though I would have been sure you would have put Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus as tops of your CW choices.

No Jimi Hendrix? He was a left handed genius.
If you looked at what was on my iPod, you’d think a bus load of people got a turn loading a dozen songs each on it. Variety.
J, you mean you don’t ride a horse to work in Amarillo? I thought that was required.

OK i can get with some of your selection as i do enjoy a bit of the classic rock…i know black girl classic rock go figure. big Phil Collins/Police even the bad stuff/Chicago. Listen to Rap and Hip/Hop by default as I need to know what my daughter is listening to which is what lead to the “G-spot” question. I listen to smooth jazz in the office, classical when cleaning the house, blues when I hurt or want to hurt LOL and every now and then a good C&W for balance.

It was nice to see Hawaiian music on your list! It makes me miss home!
My music tastes really do include everything. I don’t have any genre or type I don’t like. Although there are artists within each genre that I don’t care for. I

I would include most of that on my list of favs. I have never really listened to much Hawaiian, unless you count Don Ho several years ago. lol I would include jazz and some adult alternative I guess is what its called, David Cook, Jack Johnson, The Fray etc.

I can dig Rush and Tom Petty. I tend to listen to Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Live (the band) — hippie kind of stuff.
But when I really want to get pumped for a workout I have a basic playlist that always get me feeling bad@$$. Not really proud of it but certain songs always have and probably always will get the adrenaline pumping for me. Some hard Live from Throwing Copper (like ‘Stage’), Tupac, Ice Cube, Korn (usually Good God or Wicked), Rage Against the Machine (basically anything)…

I love Iz (Israel Kamakawiwo ‘ole) And most the others you listed, surprised though that you don’t like opera
