You know what pisses me off about coming home for the summer??? I have to settle for working out at Vanderbilt because there’s not a gym within 5 miles of my house that has anything over 105lbs dumbbells! For ****s sake I work with 110, 130, and 150 lbs dumbbells on a regular basis. Gyms should carry heavier dumbbells cause by my standards (no offense to anyone) 100s are for pussies! the YMCA in Greenhills does have up to 150s, but I’m not about to pay that ridiculous amount of money per month for the rest of my life just to work out with heavy dumbbells. I can’t remember how much it costs to go to the Y per month, but I remember that it was something outrageous. A big issue that I have with the Y is the fact that you can’t get memberships just durring the summer, your membership has to be constant.

So it turns out that I don’t have to drop any weight for wrestling because one of my brothers (whom is more experienced) is going to wrestle at 197. The weight class that i’ll be in is from 198-227. That’s a huge weight class, but I’ll be alright.

Well it turns out that weigh-ins for wrestlinig are on feb 26. That gives me just under a month to make it to 197 lbs. I weighed myself this morning and turned out to be 206 lbs. 9 lbs in a month shouldn’t be too hard. I’m gonna stop taking my supplements like 2 weeks before the weigh-ins to help cut down water weight. A bunch of my fellow wrestlers are also gonna give me tips on how to loose the weight.

Well last week was finals week at Tech and I was finished with my finals the thursday before last week. So all of last week (except for monday) I sat around drinking beer cause there was nothing else to do and I didn’t feel like working out. I came home to my parents house on friday. Now my mom wants to go Christmas shopping all day tomorrow and isn’t going to let me work out till tuesday. I hate it when my parents don’t let me work out. I mean it wouldn’t take much for me to work out at 9 am when the gym opens and get back home and be ready to go by noon. ****!

I’m going to switch from Will’s work out program back to mine. I just am not gonna get anywhere in his progam. He works out each body part only once a week. Don’t get me wrong; a lot of people do that and it’s great, but… He wants to be big now and I am more concerned with muscle strength and stamina. I normally work out each body part twice a week. The reason why he can makes gains while working everything out only once a week is because he lifts in each set until failure. I on the other hand hate lifting till failure; repping a heavy weight for 8 or 9 reps in 3 or 4 sets is more impressive than having a really high max. I also hate loosing any ounce of strentgh and I know that it will happen in the future regardless of what I do, but I want to reduce the occurrances as much as possible. He told me to do what’s best for me and that’s what I’m gonna do.

Will has convinced me to switch to his schedule of work out times and muscle groups. Yesterday we did just chest and triceps, and today we will only do legs I think. This is gonna be a long tough work out.

Finally done with the three day long feast that is my Thanksgiving break. I got some new work out clothes and I can’t wait to hit the gym again. I feel like every day that i’m not in the gym that i’m wasting time.

Hard workouts this week. I’m stronger than last week and I hope to continue on at this pace. Will and I have been doing front squats the past two weeks or so and I think that I’m ready to go back to regular squats. It’s too damn hard to hold that ****ing bar on the front of your shoulders. Me not being able to hold much weight is the only thing holding me back; my legs can definately do more. I was too tired to do shoulders on tuesday and my calves are still burning. It’s gonna be a good Thanksgiving!

I didn’t work out thursday or friday because I just didn’t have the time. We were busy doing community service stuff for Mayflower and the work out just never got penciled in. I’ll just make up for it this week.
