September 4, 2009

I have been plugging along this summer as best as I can. It has been a busy time though so progress has been tough at points, but, I am happy to report that I am pretty much back to where I was a year ago when I screwed up my back! :) Pretty happy about that. The only thing I haven’t been doing is dead lifts and that is just because it can really stress that lower back and I don’t want to hurt it again.

So, now that I am here I need a new routine. I have some new books that I need to read and hopefully I can find something soon. Any suggestions?

at home & other

July 2, 2009

I’m at home for a long July 4th holiday. I am super excited to be here but I also hope that I can keep up on a few training items. My routine hasn’t been as regular as I would normally like so this may be super important over the next few days. I’m glad that I brought my gym clothes which include my new shoes. I got a pair of New Balance MX1010’s which are the mens cross trainers for weight lifting and other such activities. So far they are AWESOME! A big help to my feet for sure.

Whats new with all of my peeps out there? Leave some love!

Need more

June 1, 2009

I think that I need to write on here more. I’m always thinking about things so maybe I should put some more of them on ‘paper’. I’m not sure that any one reads any of these any ways, so, does it matter? Things have been coming along pretty well for me lately. My bench and chest are almost back to where they were before I messed up my back so I am pretty stoked about that. I also had a really good leg workout last Thursday - my legs haven’t felt that good for many months and since before my back was injured. Maybe that is a sign that thigns are finally rehabed (or almost!) :)

Next week I am traveling for work so the gym will be non-existant. Once I get back I’m going to start some different routines - things are kind of stale now. I also suppose I will try some new creatine and see what happens.

Any ways - if you read this drop a line and say hi.

Adam Lately

I have been enjoying getting back into the gym lately and have been getting my strength back at a good rate. I am really happy to see it coming back like this. I still have a ways to go but I am getting there! Some lifts are coming along faster than others, for example, my bench strength is coming back A LOT faster than my squat strength. Legs have always been tough for me but I am sure that it will come back with due time and effort.
I have been busy lately though with work and personal life stuff so I haven’t been as regular as I’d like to at the gym. But, I think that it is OK as my back is still recovering and getting stronger. I have some work and personal trips coming up during the next couple weeks so that will give me some time to rest and then I plan on being regular with a tighter diet and a new mass gaining routine. By then I think anything should be fair game in the gym.

Until next time…

‘Back’ at it

March 25, 2009

I have had several lower back injuries since October 2008. They are finally, after a couple of re-injuries, getting better. At least I feel good so I hope they are getting better! :)

I have been back in the gym a couple times this week and I have done a both a chest and a bi/tri workout and things have felt good. I hope that it holds up! Any advice for helping out a recovering lower back?
