and training begins....
Edmonton Marathon - august 22. Training starts tomorrow. Milage is between 85 and 113 k per week. I feel good heading into this round of training. Just finished 3 weeks at 113 k/80miles per week and feel great. Ran those weeks at a steady pace, the training program will add some speed work. With any luck, Boston Qualifying will happen this year!!
I am also following the racing weight diet by Matt Fitzgerald. Pretty good results in only four or five days. I am hoping to stick with this and lose another 10 or so lbs by race day. I would like to come in around 7% body fat.
I have also basically quit weight training for the past three months. Starting Tuesday I am going to add this back in as well. Mostly cardio and core, but some standard strength stuff as well.
I will put up some posts from time to time about the diet, weight and training. In some ways marathon training is alot like bodybuilding. Months of training and diet and then one day to put it out there.
