Good start to the week

I went back to the lunch routine this week since the new gym opened, I was surprised at how many people were there during that time but its good to see that many people working hard to take care of themselves.

Today was chest and abs, had my partner with me so I pushed harder since I didn’t have to worry about dropping the bar on my throat.  I was surprised at how quick I was able to get back to normal form from before my injury.  Only skipped decline bench because someone beat us to the bench and I didn’t feel like waiting around for him to get done.  Finished with abs and felt really good today, on another note my legs are still killing me from Thursday’s workout.  This morning I had my Cytogain shake, granola cereal and a banana, and right before the workout a serving of BSN No-Xplode.

New Gym is Finally Open

I left the YMCA back in March because the competitor (Peak Fitness) was opening a new location around the corner from my job and it was a lot cheaper, especially when getting a metro membership.  They were supposed to open on May 1st which of course didn’t happen but to make a long story short they finally opened yesterday.

Place looks good, they are still getting some things straightened out, like hot water and benches in the locker room lol.  Enough of that, I worked on biceps, triceps and forearms.  Felt really strong throughout the workout and focused on maintaining my form with each movement.  Great workout and my arms kept twitching in bed last night which was pretty damn annoying while trying to fall asleep.

Biceps
Warm up: 2×15 15 d-bells
Standing Bicep Curl (EZ-Bar): 3×10 80
Hammer Strength Preachers: 4×8-10 90
Concentration Curls 3×8 25

Triceps
Pushdowns: 3×10 140-150
Overhead D-bell Press: 3×8 80
Kickbacks 3×12 20

Forearms
Wrist Curls 3×10 80

Tuesday Back

Today I made up for yesterday’s lackluster performance, had a great back workout and I’m getting back into my groove again.  Started the workout with behind the neck pulldowns, two warm up sets and three regular sets.  Second exercise was the t-bar machine, followed by d-bell rows and finishing with hammer strength pulldowns.

On a side note the last 3 times I went to that gym there is this toolbag in there that loads up the bench and military bench with over 300 pounds and walks away after he is done WTF!!!!

Looong Weekend

I work in the IT field and weekend work is sometimes one of the evils of the job.  So this weekend I was in NYC helping out with a migration and working really long hours, arrived back in Charlotte early Sunday evening.  Thinking that I would have enough energy to workout last night I went off to the gym and what a mistake that was.  First I knocked the crap out of my elbow on my car door, the gym was way overcrowded so it was take a number time on the benches.  I was feeling really run down and my stomach started bothering me so I cut the workout short, I am still feeling a little tired today but I am still going to the gym.  Hopefully today will be better.
