Friday was bi’s and tri’s, bicep workout was good I had to drop barbell curls from the routine due to the fact that I get a serious pain in the middle of my right forearm, forearm splint perhaps but either way it is not fun. I did the usual routine and got a good burn out of it, I have not worked my triceps in two weeks and I was feeling it the next day.
I was supposed to workout Saturday but a bottle of wine the night before put an end to that lol. So I had to combine shoulders and legs yesterday, now throughout all of this my partner was MIA, so I picked up a new partner called Shuffle. Yes I mean the iPod Shuffle, doesn’t make excuses or is inconsistent, has to learn how to spot but no one is perfect lol. Yesterday was probably the hardest workout I have done this year which ended with me running to the bathroom to blow chunks at the end. Its been a very long time since I push this hard but I noticed this only happens when I do legs and typically after leg presses, not sure this happens but it is effing weird!! Today is an off day, soccer game tonight and tomorrow back in the gym for chest and abs. Weight for the last month has been consistently over 160 so I am happy about that but I’ll be even happier once I break 170.

Yes my body is paying me back for taking off some time, although I like the feeling of being sore there is a point where you are like f*ck! this hurts!! Worked out my back and forearms yesterday, I didn’t lose much strength after the two week layoff but my joints feel like they need some WD40. I never used Hammer Strength machines before since I joined this new gym I have been trying them out and they are really good. I started the workout with front pulldowns 4 sets 10-12 reps, I was able to increase the weight each set and get to at least 10 fighting through the last 2 reps a good burn for the rest of the workout. Next up with bent over barbell rows, I love this exercise but my right arm is slightly longer then my left which make balancing the bar quite the challenge. Next came d-bell rows followed by hammer strength pulldowns and finishing with stiff legged deadlifts. I did two forearm exercises, reverse curls and wrist curls, by the time I got to forearms they were already fatigues from the back workout but I still got good isolation.

I was in California for eight days and I worked out just one of those days lol, yes you can call me lazy but it was nice to just hang out and do nothing!! But now I am paying the price! Yesterday was my first day back and I can feel the difference, did a chest workout and the fatigue set in a lot sooner then expected. Got a full workout in but today the soreness is reminding me of my laziness, I just want to get back out on the beach again lol.

Been a little tied up the past days but looking forward to vacation in California next week!!!
Saturday I did legs and got to the point where I almost passed out midway through the workout, I may need to stop barbell squatting for a bit because it is really bothering my lower back. I set a personal best on the leg press by doing three sets of 12 at 405, I was very happy about that, after leg extensions my quads were done. Done to the point that I couldn’t do any stiff legged dead lifts because I couldn’t maintain form due to my quads shaking. During leg curls was when I was starting to feel a little light headed and queezy, took a short break and finished the workout.
Monday was a good chest workout except for the fact that the gym was super packed and it was hard to get to the machines without having to wait on people. That is probably the most frustrating aspect I find to working out, you get in to a groove and you just want to keep going and then you get someone that wants to make love to pec desk!
Yesterday was a back and I changed my workout routine and I am feeling it today, I’m finding that changing routines every 8 weeks or so sends a good shock to the muscle, it just makes it a little difficult to get out of bed the next morning. The weight gain progress is heading in the right direction, I’ve managed to stay over 160 for a week now, hit the scale this morning at 164, I’m hoping to break 170 by the end of the summer.

Today was biceps and triceps day and it was a good one, I thought I wouldn’t be able to workout today due to the fact I hit my arm pretty good on the boat yesterday trying to get back in. But today’s workout turned out really well, completed each set to failure and then some. Bicep workout consisted of: concentration curls, standing b-bell curls, preacher curls, seated alternating d-bell curls supersetted with chin ups. 4 sets for each exercise with 6-8 reps, this is the same for triceps.
Spent the 4th out on the lake and did some tubing, that is a workout trying to hold on and not get chucked off. It was a very nice day here in NC and food and beer makes the day better

Friday was Legs and I am still feeling the effects of the workout today, a lot better then the last two days but there is nothing like being in the lake and you hamstrings wanting to cramp when you are nowhere near the boat. I rested for the rest of the weekend and tried to maintain a normal diet which seems to be a mission for me on the weekends. Today was a Chest and I made some improvement, I was able to get 155 up for 8 reps on the last set of incline bench and got the 65 d-bells for 2 sets of 12 and 2 of ten. This was the third week of doing this chest workout and I really like it, it doesn’t seem like a lot but you get a good pump if you do it right. Haven’t got on the scale yet today but I am hoping that I didn’t lose what I gained last week.
Day 1: Chest
Incline Bench Press 5×15,12,10,10,8
Flat Bench D-Bell Press 3×12
Incline Flies 3×12
Cable Crossovers 2×15
