The last couple of weeks it has been a struggle to get the energy level to really BLAST my arm routine…today started off pretty much the same…I started off around noon Whey shake…Creatine boost. CLA..looking at the clock…2:00 PM is sorta the drop dead time to get it on. Today from the time I turned the radio on in the gym…the tunes were AMPED UP…my body felt strong..and the first set was Awesome..so I automatically increased the weight…still BLASTING…increased it again…And now I AM IN THE ZONE…high intensity…. BLASTING EVERY REP AND EVERY SET…..GREAT PUMP…Some days I just love Body Building…especially when I’m IN THE ZONE….

In December it will be three years..since I have been back into hardcore BB. I have met most of my goals and look forward to even more progress in the years to come. I often wonder how much progress I could have made had I kept working out at this level when I was younger..but KEEPING IT REAL…in life we don’t get do overs..so to my young BB friends I would encourage you to maintain your bodybuilding program..don’t risk taking a break..because like most things in life BB is a lifestyle… and once you get out of the habit of working out it may take years to get back in the gym..trust me all kinds of situations will give you an excuse not to workout. KEEPING IT REAL…in life we always find time to do what is important to us….look for encouragement and inspiration where you can and KEEP IT REAL…AND KEEP ON TRAINING…

For me PAIN is a fact of life….Intense sports life when I was younger…some more wear and tear when I was in the military..and through it all lifting heavy weights in the gym…If I waited until I was compeletely pain free I don’t think I would ever get a workout in.
I have friends that use to be active…but have let a few aches and pains derail there active lifestyle…and the less active they have become…the more aches and pains they have. My goal in life has been to "WEAR OUT INSTEAD OF RUST OUT".. and I intend to keep on keeping on..until I can’t; but in the meantime I’ll just keep WORKING THROUGH THE PAIN…

Most of us are creatures of habit and BB is no exception. All of us have our favorite routines…ususally the ones we are most comfortable with. I have been working Bicep and Triceps together most of the year…and my arms had hit a plateau. So I decided to CHANGE IT UP I just started doing Tricep/Cest and Bicep/Back and the results are I have added 1/4" to my arms in 3 weeks…now in at 18.50".
When we hit a plateau…we need to attack from a different perspective…keep CHANGING IT UP. My Back and Chest have also increased in size…and will remeasure at the end of the month. Have you hit a Plateau????..JUST CHANGE IT UP..

Just did another Trail Run..More like a fast Jog…had some friends that wanted to try it…ended up doing six miles..but the friends couldn’t keep up…so I had to run off my pace..and it just killed my legs…gonna be sore tomorrow. I would recommend that anyone that considers Trail Running with friends…be sure you are comfortable with each others pace. My friends are in worse shape than I am…and one said don’t call him he will call me the next time he wants to Trail Run..Something about when Hell freezes over…
To compound the situation yesterday I had an intense chest/tricep workout yesterday..and my arms are more sore than they have been in awile…on a funny note one of my friends stopped to pee and said to go on and he would catch up..a few minutes later he almost knocked me off the trail running by me…he had heard something in the bushes and thought it was a Bear…If ya are gonna trail run remember…GET IT ON…

The friends I have made at BB. com have helped me stay inspired and motivated to achieve my BB goals. Many days it is a chore to get started on a workout that I don’t look forward to; I can always count on friends to give me that extra motivation..to "get r done". While I am in N.C. most workouts are done alone in a cold garage labeled by my wife as "The Dog Pound"..when the temps drop below freezing it takes a real mind set to open the door and walk into the freezer. I always check with my friends on BB .com…drink a little protein..fix a shaker cup with Optimum Pre-Load Creatine mixed with unsweet Cranberry juice..put my game face on and JUST DO IT…thanks friends for helping me stay INSPIRED AND MOTIVATED..

This cool fall weather with the leaves changing color is great for trail running….I usually only do three miles on the trail..and hike back taking a different trail…The elevation is about 4100 ft. so it is easy to get winded when I first start..but the body soon adjusts and it is exhilirating. The running which I try to do a couple of times a week..makes the intense gym workouts easier; and don’t hit the wall, like I do when I don’t run. I have runners legs and a power lifters upper body..so today I am gonna start a program to bulk up those runners legs; but not too much.. cause I really like TRAIL RUNNING IN THE FALL…

My wife is visiting her family in Miami..so I am stuck on this Mtn. with just an old Tom Cat to keep me company. I guess I pretty much get use to her being around… I am a light sleeper anyway and have mild PTSD…and the last several nights since she’s been gone..I toss and turn..and don’t sleep very well. Bottom line is I am tired as hell in the morning..and tomorrow morning is my INTENSE ARM WORKOUT…I think having someone around gets us in a routine and if they are gone the routine is trashed. Same way with BB… I have to stick to my BB routine or other aspects of my life don’t run as smoothly. So the INTENSE ARM WORKOUT will happen…I just hope I don’t fall asleep and drop a dumbell on my toe…I just GOT TO GET SOME SLEEP…

OK so my Spanish isn’t perfect…it should be cause my wife is Cuban;…but she isn’t here right now. I have always lived life on the edge..a little crazy..and with gusto. There are way too many people that put Life on hold and say "When this happens then I will do something". A life lesson that my mother taught me from a young age when she would say.."Son you are wasting your whole life getting ready"…In the gym this translates into excuses like…"I can’t train today because"..
Most of the time I train like a JUNK YARD DOG…THRASHING the IRON…and LEAVE IT ALL IN THE GYM….The only day you can do anything about is TODAY…try living it "LIVIDA LOCA’

I was at a party last night with some older…well really old friends and a lot of them remarked about what great shape I was in and wished they could get in better shape. Most really did not like my reply.."You can…we all do what is important to us"…What they are really telling me is getting in shape and Body Building are not important to them. They play golf, watch the TV and NEVER EVER break a sweat…unless of course to go to the frige for another beer. I get the same comment from younger Body Builders that comment on my Guns…and say man I would like to have guns like those…I say Make it a priorty work like hell and you can do it too…after all ‘WE ALL DO WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO US"….
