The Fruits of Labor are % points!

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I am happy to say that I am beginning to reap the fruits of my labor.  No, the whole harvest has not come in, but I am certainly getting close.  I got my InBody 520 Body Composition exam done this morning at 10:15 am.  10:15 was quite a ways away from my 5 am workout, which translates to a hungry woman!  It is recommended to be fasting when taking this electrical impedance exam that measures weight, body fat %, water balance, BMI and segmental lean mass development.  I went in last on the 7th of Nov. weighing 149.5 lbs., body fat = 24.6%, body fat (in lbs.) = 36.8 lbs. and my BMI was 24.9.  Today I am proud to say that I weigh 142.9 lbs., body = 21.6% (-3% in 3 weeks!) and body fat (in lbs.) = 30.8 (a 6lb drop in body fat!) and BMI has dropped to 23.8.  What concerns me is the sagging skin on my stomach.  I am confident that I will be able to tighten up once I reduce my body fat, but after 3 big bouncing baby boys, I am getting ready to also accept that I may not be able to turn back the hands of time that easily and regain (who am i kidding, GAIN for the 1st time) a flat stomach.  But I am not losing faith….plus, my nutricianist recommended taking 3000 mg of Vitamin C (1000 mg x 3/day), which will help boost my body’s production of collegen and help improve the elasticity of my skin.  Lets see if it works.  Anyone else have any good tips for tightening "saggy mommy belly"???

How about toothpicks in my eyes?

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

I am so tired!  I stayed up a little too late (updating my Body Space, mind you!) and I am beat.  I went to bed at about 11:00 pm.  Well, I was actually helped to bed and tucked in by Mr. Bond (my hubby) and instructed to stop "playing" and get some rest for my 5:15 am workout.  4:30 am came quickly, but I kicked my bootie out of bed and stumbled to the car to drive to the gym.  I love my Wednesday aerobic cardio sculpt class with Vania, she rocks!  I used heavy weights (well at least heavy for the type of class it is) - 10 lbs. and my light choice was 6 lbs.  Not bad, I felt energized…with the added help of 6 oz of Grape Fix Endorush (gooooood stuff!).  But as soon as I got back home (6:30 am), I took my stinky, sweaty ass back to the sheets (sorry, babe.) and took a little cat nap.  I am hoping to get over the sleepiness.  Oh yeah!  I know!!!  Go to bed earlier, smart ass!!!!   Sleep is so important and on a good day, I get 6 and 1/2 hours (when I hit the hay right at 10 pm).  I know it is not ideal, but being a mommy to 3 little boys who need baths and 1st grade homework revision doesn’t allow for an "ideal" 8 solid hours.  Will this affect me drastically?  Can I just catch up on the weekends?  How do you all cope with SLEEP DEPRIVATION????

Any tips?

Clean eating is my BFF

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

In less than one week of clean eating and keeping a 1200 calorie a day diet, I received so many comments from my colleagues, family and friends.  It is amazing how your dont realize how "inflammation" really does affect the overall look of your body.  My body has noticiably slimmed down.  I am now going on week two of the leaning out phase.  The bummer is that Thanksgiving is about a week away and the Holidays are right around the corner.  I will stick with my BFF and hope the diet sticks with me!  The fat-burning supplements have helped my evening appetite considerably and I am getting use to the smaller portions.

Thirst is a reminder to stay hydrated and damn I am thirsty!

I will post some new pics on Sunday after my hour long run.

You put what in your mouth?!

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Here is my first "official" clean Saturday in a long time.  My goal of 18% BF will hopefully not bring me to my knees since I will aim for 1200 calories a day to get there.  Here is what I ate yesterday:
