So I normally work from home, but I am on a project that needs some special attention so I have to go to the city on a daily basis. My morning commutes have been great but this Friday I had to work late left the city at 11:30 PM.

I am thinking ok should get home around a quarter to 1 not too bad.  Train was pretty packed considering the time, I got on at 33rd  street #6, and by the time I got to 125 street, it started getting empty.

So far so good making good time, but then on 138th street, about 6 guys get on the train and, yeah you guessed it, they were loud, obnoxious and looking for trouble.   They started throwing garbage on the platform  and for some reason just yelling out of the top or their lungs!

I looked around and notice that some people were really unnerved and some even slowly moved to the other car.

For a quick minute I thought about saying something, then my grandson popped in my mind and I said F it, just let it be.

I got off on my stop and just when I was walking to the steps I looked back and they were all running laughing.  When I looked further back I saw a man lying on the ground when I went to him he was bleeding all over his face, within a matter of second they robbed him apparently they hit him with something across his face cause his whole face was busted open.

Funny thing is the mayor says the subways in NYC are safer now. Yeah right.

So I was at a bar shooting pool having a pretty nice time, I notice this big guy around 6′5-6′7" sitting at the bar kept looking at me. He says hey buddy I have been watching you, you are not that good. So I think to myself OK  whatever, and I keep playing pool. Then he walks over to me and says how big are your arms? I bet not even 16" I look at him and say "I don’t know never measured them". He then ask how much do you weight (I knew at this point this guy was looking for trouble) I told him my weight he says "how much do you think I weigh"? I honestly thought he weighed about 250 275 and he proclaims, "no 350lbs" So I was like damn big guy. He says I might not look it but I am one strong Mo-fo. I told him I bet you are and I kept shooting pool. He then extends his hand out to me and says hey whats your name? I shake his hand (big ****ing hands man) and he proceeds to crush my hand and says "where I am from we give a strong  shake and look at the guy in the eye" Now I am thinking shit not my night. So I tell him thats kool I can respect that and I try to free my hand but now he starts pulling me towards him in an effort I believe to show me how strong he was. I resist and hold my ground now I start pulling on his arm and we stay there for like 15-20 seconds. He then turns to his friends looks back at me and says, "You are one strong little Mo-Fo" and lets go of my hand.

I continue to play pool, before I left he waves later to me and tells me to have a good one……..

Weird man just freaking weird.

My oldest son just found out the baby his soon to be wife is carrying is a boy! He calls me last night  and says "Pops lets go out, me and some of the family are going to a club" (the family my nephew and my brother in law) I said, nah I don’t feel like going out he keeps insisting. So I finally said yes. I get dressed we go to this club in the Bronx man so many young people and alot of my sons friends from the hood, I am thinking to myself hmmm not a good mix but I said F’ it let me have some fun with my son.

Around 3:00 am my son comes up to me and says "Pops these N’99as are trying to press me!" (for anyone reading this it is not your typical N word, it is just a street slang) So I go over there to try defuse the situation.

We come up against around 18-20 people all ready to fight, I am trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Before you know it everyone is fighting, I was trying my best to watch out for my son, nephew and my brother in law. I need to get the F out of there so as I am trying to exit the club 2-3 guys come up to me and are getting ready to swing yelling there he goes right there (referring to my son) I punch the first guy coming running at my son straight in his nose knocking his ass off his feet. I grab the second guy and threw him to the ground at the same time I got hit with what I think was a stick or a pole on my upper back, my son hit the guy who hit me with a bottle over his head and busted his head open.

The guy I had on the floor pulled out a knife I grabbed a piece of a chair that was laying on the floor and whack him across his jaw, which gave us an opening to get out of the club. Outside there were cops all over I put my son my nephew and son in law in my car and we bounced. That is the last time I am going out with these youngens!

This shit could have been worse.

Must be doing something right!

Well my training has been going great thus far! I haven’t really seen any improvements body wise, at least I didn’t think so till yesterday. I was going to the supermarket to re-stack on my food. I had on some flipflops, a pair of shorts and a tanktop, early in the morning so I knew not too many people would be in the supermarket. As I am walking 4 people were walking in my direction, 2 men 2 women one of them nods at me I nod back (the two women give me a big smile that was nice). I continue walking when all of a sudden one of the guys comes behind me and says "Hey got a minute" I said sure he says "what cycle are you on man what are you shooting and don’t give me that BS that you are natural" I couldn’t believe how freaking straight forward this ahole was. I kept it moving, too early for this BS. I wasn’t going to say anything but then I turned around and said, if you really want to know it is all in the diet maybe you should try it. His partner and the two girls started laughing and I could see he got pissed! He said,  yeah right you are full of Sh1T. I laughed and just kept it moving

I must be doing something right!

Missed days

F, it’s been 3 days I have missed working out! Been working on my house and have been too tired to hit the gym arrrggghhhhhh  Feels like I already lost some size only been eating once a day……I need to go back ASAP!

Feeling pretty sore this morning, every muscle in my body is hurting. Maybe it is time for a week layoff, give my body a break, so many heavy deads, squats, bent over rows, mil presses, I wonder how much more of this I can take? Who am I kidding I live for this, but you have to be smart, you have to listen to your body or otherwise you wind up looking like alot of the gym rats who are in there day in and day out and they always look the same, burnout, over-training? I wonder what it is they are there for, don’t think I could go to the gym day in and out if I always look the same, I need to see some kind of change, some noticeable change. I wonder if that is why most who see me go to the gym and watch my body change always accuse me of using steroids hmmm I wonder. OK today Chest, Shoulders and Biceps let me go make my protein shake…..

Legs

So today was a leg workout, I walk in, both squats racks are taken, go over to the leg press, it is taken, walk over to the vertical leg press it is also taken. I feel my blood boiling, but what am I gonna do? Getting upset isn’t going to help. So I tell Dennis (my training partner) How about using the squat machine? (not the smith machine this is a machine design for solely squats) I know he really doesn’t want to use it neither do I, but what the hell we need to start somewhere so  I say lets just hit this ****er hard! I put on one plate on each side do 25 reps for a good warm up, Dennis does the same. We add two more plates aside 3 total on each, do 12 reps legs are warming up now. We throw on two more plates aside 3 on each side 15 reps, yeah we are feeling it now, 2 more plates aside 7 total on each side 12 reps yeah baby burning like hell. Legs are staring to shake now I tell dennis give me a spot 2 more plates 9 total I WANT 10! Dennis go ahead them Mo-Fo do it throw an xtra plate 10 on each side 20 plates total. I look towards Dennis how many reps you want give me 10 if you could! If I could I hi the ****ing 10! Now the leg workout begins!!!!
