DANGER: Wooly Mammoth in Speedo!

The following post is an on-going series, dedicated to blogumenting my continual progress as I work towards the INBA Southwestern USA in Tucson, AZ on April 26, 2008.

Week two of my contest preparation has been going much smoother than week one. Interestingly, during my bulking phase which was approximately four and one half months in duration, I really felt as though I wasn’t getting too fat, and therefore not too out of shape.

NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!

As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog,

http://blog.bodybuilding.com/bodyauditor/2008/01/23/random-haziness-the-low-carb-inferno/

my posing trunks came in last weekend, and since they are merely just a unit bucket, I quickly saw that indeed, I am fat and out of shape. For the sake of all that is holy and decent, I will wait a minimum of one more week until I post pics of the wooly mammoth I have become in said posing trunks. Trust me, pics now may very well upset the balance of the Universe and bring all humanity as we know it to a crashing and devastating end: or at least cause many viewers to experience feelings even they themselves do not understand.

And with that here are a couple points of interest regarding: my state of mind (mostly warped), physical condition, diet, training and other miscellaneous goofy gee whiz points of fodder.

Yesterday’s diet was as follows:
NOTE: Yesterday was a high carb day which I instill every fourth or fifth day. As you may know, after a certain point on a low-carb diet, the body switches off its fat burning mechanisms, in favor of storing said fat. This is instinctual and is the body’s way of preparing for famine. In my experience, the best way to consistently keep the fat burning switch in the ‘ON’ position is to throw in a carb day after three to five days. I do not go crazy and generally look to stay away from processed carbs if I possible…..

300A – Low-carb yogurt with scoop of whey, one bowl of Natures’ path high-fiber pumpkin seed flax flakes, Large glass of grape and orange juice

700A – Detour Protein / Energy bar (Dark Chocolate Caramel / Caffeine)

1100A – Spinach and carrot salad with Chicken breast, two Omega-3 eggs with yolks, sliced raw almonds and raw pepitas with Olive oil and balsalmic vinegar and Mrs. Dash table blend

100P – Raw mixed nut compilation (Brazillian, Almonds, Filberts, Pepitas, Sunflower seeds)

400P - Low-carb yogurt with scoop of whey: Large bowl of Nature’s Path Flax seed Crunch…

700P – Rice bowl with Chicken breast, Steak, Cilantro, Spinach, One Omega-3 egg with yolk, Lime juice, Texas Nuclear Sauce and Quesadilla cheese (Jack, Mozzarella)

1100P - Low-carb yogurt with scoop of caseinate

Yesterday’s Heavy Duty workout consisted of: Shoulders

Two warm up triple set of laterals (Front, Side, Rear) – 20 reps each with 15 pounders *

* - Warm ups without rest

One working set of Military presses (Drop set)

15 reps with 195

11 reps with 155

15 reps with 115

10 full, 10 partials with 95

Random haziness:
-Couple of tips I learned from reading an industrial safety article today. (Wow, I’m lucky to still be here)

  1. If you suspect someone is stalking you, notify your supervisor immediately!
  2. If you need a ladder, do not use an office chair with wheels!
  3. If you are bored with your job, you may deliberately take chances to relieve the boredom…. “Does this explain my curious fascination for chain saws and Blow torches?”
  4. If you see bare wires sticking out of the wall, do not touch them!

-If a plane leaves New England traveling at an average rate of 75 mph on its way to Arizona and a Large Bus leaves New York traveling at an average rate of 75 mph on its way to Arizona, what are the chances of the Dallas Cowboys winning the Super Bowl in 2009?

-Dude, is it only Thursday?

-If you have not checked out this website   http://www.pandora.com/  and you love music, you owe it to yourself to hit this ASAP. Trust me…..

-I need a Starbucks.

And with that, I bring today’s blogumentary to a close…Arms tonight!!…..

Parting shot: Positive is as positive does: Be positive today!
