It’s been since February?!

July 30, 2009

Wow since February really? Ok, it is about time I update my blog!

Here’s a quick synopsis of what you’ve missed…
After getting sick for two weeks back in February, I found it extremely difficult to get my butt back to the gym. Why? Oh probably a combination of things - it being the winter, getting out of a schedule, commuting to and from work 4 hours a day still, .. more or less EXCUSES!

This past May, I started stayiing at my friends house who lived closer to my job and I had a vacation coming up where I’d be in a bathing suit! Needless to say my butt got back to the gym and I can say I’ve been very avid about it for two months and have decided this is a life long habit because once I do get in shape, I just simply can’t STOP working out without that beautiful body deteriorating.

So.. now I am focused on 3 goals and yes they are simultaneously possible
1. Build muscle
2. Burn fat
3. Compete in vairous traithlons and become an athlete

Looking good AND feeling good, as well as trying to push myself to my personal limit, is what inspires me. Future goals help me make progress and continue to try an improve myself today. Well I have a month to train harder for my next triathlon and actually try and compete (my first triathlon’s goal last weekend was just to COMPLETE it).

Adios

Tomorrow

February 22, 2009

I will be back in the gym tomorrow. I still have an occasional flemmy cough.  It has been at least 2 weeks since I’ve been in the gym and it hurts.. physically and emotionally. Alls I can do is start again or rather continue on my journey even though I hit a bump in the road.  When you fall down, it’s all about getting back up and not quitting. The worst part of the whole mess is, I didn’t even realize the amazing progress I had been making until now that I’ve put back on some fat and loss some muscle. Focusing on what I want to be appears in my mind to be a large deterrent and stresser, like everything I’m doing today isn’t helping - I just need to be more patient with progress and stick to eating clean. Here’s to getting back on track for life!

The flu = a MAJOR workout setback

February 11, 2009

Feeling the need to vent a bit.. it’s Wednesday night and I’m feeling slightly better enough to be extremely frustrated sitting here in my bed sick; I have the flu, felt like I was dying yesterday, and haven’t been to the gym since Saturday. I’m angry that my workout progress has been halted, I feel like I’m getting weaker every day. I had been sick on and off for the past 2 weeks prior to having the flu so my workouts have not been what they were.

Stress it taking a toll on my workouts

January 31, 2009

So I’ve realized why I’m not making as much progress as I should have made in 2 months - it’s stress and a constant mind battle.

I work out everyday 5-6 days a week, at 5am, commute 4 hours a day (to and from work) and work in an office. I’m stressed for many reasons 1. difficultly of my job 2. not having a physically active job 3. being alone so much during the day 4. by the time I get home from work it’s time for bed. Stress seems to make me crave more carbs. I’m also stressed because last week was a bad week for me on top of being sick and not being able to work out, I didn’t chose many healthy options for meals. I need to hold firm to cut out the carbs after 3pm and incorporate more cardio - my weight lifting program is fantastic and I’ve seen results in that area!

It’s 2009!

January 11, 2009

So I’ve been continuously working out since November 23, 2008 and feel great. For the past week unfortunately due to unforeseen events I only made it to the gym once. I’m going back to the gym this afternoon - Back and chest is on the menu. Tomorrow, monday, is triceps, tuesday abs and biceps, wednesday legs, thursday chest, friday and saturday are cardio at least days. This past week I’ve also felt like I’ve had no energy! This may be for 2 reasons - 1. lack of working out 2. STRESS due to work/life situations.

Over a week of progress!

December 2, 2008

Wow do I feel AMAZING!! ..and sore but in a good way. My triceps feel like complete mush from yesterday evening’s workout, a bit sore but I know they’re just repairing themselves.  Back still feels tight from being worked out on Sunday and well tomorrow is legs and abs.

It’s been awhile…

June 21, 2008

It has been awhile since I’ve last blogged so I felt now is a good a time as any to quickly note my progress.  First off, this past month has been a struggle moving back home and having junk food constantly at my side whereas at my apartment I only purchased healthy food. I have been weight lifting this past month and have been stepping up my cardio - the only thing that stands in my way of progress is the junk food. Well off to the gym!

I refuse to step on the scale!

October 2, 2007

Ok ya so back at college, chips, candy and beer are back on the menu. Running ALOT more and hitting the gym so I plan to lose the weight I’ve gained since my last update pretty shortly. I’ve been running 3-5 miles when I run, that’s more than I could have EVER done when I was really skinny!! Getting in shape just need to shed the pounds, but who can help cheating sometimes right?!

Any advice how to shed pounds quickly & what to eat to do it??!!

push it at the gym..

July 12, 2007

ok so hitting the gym more often but i get tired doing more than 30 minutes of cardio! I was wondering what people use to beat the pain during the work out (ex. Advil or just push through the pain)??  I’ve noticed I tire easily so I’ve started to drink 1/2 a bottle of gatorade if I plan to do more than 30mins of cardio at the gym. Any suggestions??
