Right now Im sitting at work bored out of my mind. Im just thinking about the week ahead. Diet, cardio, lifting. All I can think about is this contest in Oct. Im even having crazy dreams about it. This week I am planning to do 4 days of 40min cardio with two days of HIIT. Im going to keep my calories at 1300, carbs 300, fats 50, protien around 250 per day. Im going the hit the wieghts as heavy as possible. Im really looknig forward to a solid week of training and diet. Hopefully I’ll be a pound less by next weekend. Well, I guess it is back to work.

I had a good week in the gym. I switched to one bodypart per session. Im going heavier with an 6-8 rep range. the goal right now is still to gain as much lean mass a possible for me by August. I stuck to my diet pretty well. i was suprised. Ive been slowly trying to up my calories. Im around 2500 per day. This weekend will be hard on the diet. I have to work 12 hour nights Fri, Sat and Sun. Eating will just give me a reason to take several breaks! Monday I plan to increase the weight on basic pressing and pullling movements by 5-10lbs. ie… Bench press.. shulder press.. bent over rows.. you get the idea.
I hope all who read this have a good weekend.
Oh ya… I was shook out of bed at 0430 by an Earthquake! In Illinois! The last one I felt I was 10 I think. And now 23 years later 2 in the same day. I felt another around 10:00. I better win the contest.. I may not get another chance!

Well it has been a week now since I decided to enter my first contest. My goal right now is to put on some clean pounds before July. I know if you want to grow you got to eat. That is the hardest part for me. I just can not eat. Growing up I would always go on one meal a day and my body just got used to that. I pretty much rely on protien drinks to get in my daily grams. But I keep thinking about the contest and force myself to eat something small every hour. Ive been thinking about a wieght gainer. If you have tried a good one let me know. My work outs have been good. Ive been going heavy with low reps. I plan to have some progress pics up soon so everybody can have a good laugh!

Ok friends… I have made a huge descision. Im going to compete in my first contest ever. Im 32 and something inside me says this is the right time. So Im going to listen. Im already nervous. The contest is in October 2008 so I have 7 months to get make act together. Like I said this is my first contest so I was hoping I could rely on my fellow Bodybuilders for some help. I have so many questions.. I feel like a complete dumbass.
Novice or open.. which would be better for my first run. I want to take the first four months and try to put at least 5lbs if not more clean weight. I would like to keep my BF% at 8 durring this phase. I think it will be easier for me to drop to 4-5% durring my cutting phase which I will start 3 months out. My daily nutrition numbers right now are total Calories: 1784.. Fat: 50… Carbs: 200… Proien: 230. My last weight was 176lbs.
Any insight would be greatly appreciate.. I feel knowledge is the key. the more I know the better chance I give myself. Thank you to all.

It was hell getting to the gym today. I woke up all congested and feeling weak. I hate that feeling. But the show must go on… right? I forced myself to get in some cardio and abs nothing else. It seems like just when you get a grove going day to day something has to come along and F**K it up. At least Im not having trouble eatting. I hate these little nagging colds! they are like nats. Hopefully tomorow will be a better day.

When it gets close to spring I like to change my routine from one body part per workout to whole body. This seems to lean me out fairly quick. I keep my reps form 8-10. I really dont focuse on wieght but more on form and really trying to get a mind muscle connection. Today was a good workout. Nice and pumped. I think it is time for a nap!
I hope to be nice and cut by mid May. 5% BF maybe?! I better stop eating peanut M&M’s!
