I decided to start running again…
I have steered away from running (which is an exercise I actually love) for a few months because I was told (by a close friend of mine, who’s a full-time personal trainer) that my muscle tissue was being catabolized when I ran, which was causing muscle loss instead of fat loss…and it was delaying my results (firm up/slim down).
So, I replaced running with Spinning, which is awesome…but I’m still not getting as firmed up as I want to be yet either, so I’m going to start running again, as a suppliment to my workout routines. And thanks to the advice of a couple people, I’m getting a heart rate monitor so I can monitor my heart rate while I run, in order to stay in the fat burning range. I’m hoping that running again, in addition to my other workouts, will help me with the fat loss I want.

I have been running 4-5 miles a day and I havent had any change in body fat loss. I have tried interval running to slow jogging to high tensity running. No changes has happened. So i said the hell with it and i just run for 15 mins and go lift.

The effects of running, like any other cardio, are going to depend on the usual (frequency, type, etc) but also diet. Simply put, no type of cardio ‘targets’ muscles as opposed to fat so changing to spinning does little if anything.
Take in some protein (perhaps a shake)maybe an hour or so before your run and some carbs 20-30 min. before depending on the run (potatos are my fav. before a real distance run). If you’re consuming enough healthy calories, you shouldn’t be ‘catabolizing’ at all

Remember as with any fitness program you will only get out of it what you put into it. Along with a good work out to loose fat you must also have a clean diet. Eat Clean…. Check out www.Bunlkers.com its chickentuna’s website.
