I’m anti-supplement…
My first post ![]()
I have to be completely honest… I’m anti-supplement now. Well, I shouldn’t say that. I’m anti-Designer Supplement now! Good ol’ Creatine, Glutamine, and BCAA’s are all good in my book! Ok, ok… I’ll admit I LOVE SuperPump 250 though! ![]()
Why am I against all these Designer Supplements though?! Honestly, its because of the Supplement Section! lol I’m SOOOO sick of reading all these supplement "stacks" that these 140lb kids are going on. I’m not bashing these kids for being 140lbs though. They’re working their butts off, and we ALL start somewhere. Just, the mentality is all wrong though. Everyone is convinced that without these high dollar supplements, we can’t attain our physique goals! And there’s not much evidence to prove that these supplements are great anyways. Everytime someone does post a before and after shot, its nothing miraculous, or exciting most of the time. To me, it seems like a placebo effect. These kids get on this supplement, and bust their @$$es harder than they usually do, and eat better… The result? They gained 10lbs of muscle. Take away the supplement, but training and eating remain the same.. What could they gain? …. 10lbs of muscle!
I get asked everyday in the gym what I’m on. My response: Creatine, Superpump250, EGGS, EGGS, and more EGGS! For the $50-$60 dollars that it would cost to buy one of these "miracles in a bottle," I can buy a whole lot of meat, potatoes, and eggs!
Everytime I read, "But I do eat a ton!" I just laugh.. Seriously, keep a food log for just ONE week and you’ll see how little you actually eat. Also, you DON’T have to become a big fat fatty to put on muscle. You just need to eat ENOUGH to build muscle. There is no calculation to do that. Just monitor your food, eat clean, and lift like your life depended on it!
Anyways, I guess the point of this rant, is that there needs to be a change… The hard work mentality needs to make a comeback! A little hard work never hurt anybody. Lifting is the easy part. EATING BIG, while eating GOOD, is the hard part!
No supplement is going to make up for your shortcomings in your diet and training… Maybe for a little while, but not in the long run.

Part of this agree on, some I can not. Yes Diet and training are very important. But for some of us, going to the store and buying good food is just not an option. Being over here in Iraq all of our food is prepare for us(mostly fried and deep fried), fruit that looks like it’s been sitting on the shelf for week on end, salads(won’t got there). Enough ice cream, soda, cake, donuts, pies, cookies and what I like to call candy milk . . . that could kill and elephant.
Some of us who are trying to stay in shape have to use or own means of getting the stuff our bodies needs. Supplements, meal replacements, etc.
Creatine is actually one of many supplements that we as soldiers are not suppose to use. Due to the extreme heat out here.

depratercm, you are one of the few that actually have an excuse. We all have to make due when we can, but I’m sure when you are able to eat good again you will..
I’m only referring to the kids who are rrelying on just supplements instead of good ol’ hard work and nutrition
you’re lookin’ thick btw! nice work!

amen to that! In fact, I gave it some thought in terms of the treatments my dad was using for his gout, which is a disease formed by exess uric acid. Funny enough he was mixing honey, cider vinegar and sodium bi carbonate as well as taking ph balancers with his water and eating more alkaline based foods. And he actually recovered far quicker than most patients on drugs do! So with that said I’m gonna do more research into this area, after all ,if this stuff helps neutralise the blood from acidic to a ph 7, and bearing in mind your body is at its strongest when in a neutral to alkaline state - hopefully this means I can create a natural home made supplement that’ll boost recovery !
p.s. where do you think some of these companies xtract their creatine monohydrate from? Just curious…ooo and check out the biological profile of Hempseed oil, got an insane amount of live amino acids!!!
