down 23 lbs

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Well, I am so amazed at myself……. I have never never never been a successful dieter.  However I have always been very good at gaining weight.  haha……  So now, I have quite a bit still to lose but I am down 23 lbs.  From 218 to 195…  I have decided to take all this in 10 lb goals.  Right now, I am trying to get below 190, then 180 and so on…….  Short term goals seem to work best for me.  I have been working out religiously since Jan 4th.  Mostly doing kickboxing with Billy Blanks.  I have several of his tapes.  It is slimming me up and burning calories.  It is also building muscle and showing quicker results than just lifting weights.  After this layer of fat is gone, I plan on trying to perfect my muscles so I will have a strong body.  I am 50 and right now I feel so much better than I have felt in a long time.  I can tell I am stronger.  I can do a 30 minute cardio session without falling apart.

Right now, I am at a plateau and weight loss has slowed.  I am eating low card, high protein and low fat or fat free when possible.  To get over the plateau, I have changed my workout routine to something a little more challenging.  On some days I am doing cardio twice.  In the mornings before work and then after work as well.

I also have a stand up job most of the time which burns calories but just got a promotion so I will be in an office making more money but sitting on my butt in a chair for 8 hrs.  I will have to make up for that as well.  I am considering buying a small stair stepper and taking it to work and using it on my breaks…

But……..it’s all working out…

I am so happy I found this site with all the inspirational stories.  It is motivating me and inspiring me to lose weight once and for all…..

Down 16….. 1000 to go. hehe

I have lost 9 lbs……

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

I am so excited…….   I have lost 9 lbs in 4 days…  I am eating a low fat, low carb diet and eating 5 meals a day.  It seems like a ton of food and I am so surprised that it is working.  I have never eaten so much and lost weight.  I am getting things from all the food groups and it  appears to be a very healthy diet.  And combined with the exercising, the weight is falling off.

I am thrilled!!!!!!
