My Options Are…
I met w/ the orthopedic surgeon today regarding my shoulder. I was informed that I have rotator cuff tendinitis w/ a partial tear, bursitis, and a partial labrum tear in my right shoulder.
My options are:
1). To continue to live w/ the pain and discomfort but there’s the chance that it will eventually become unbearable and surgery will be required.
2). I can have cortisone injection which isn’t a guarantee or a quick fix to the problem. At best, it’s a temporary solution and eventually will require surgery.
3). I can elect to have arthroscopic surgery which would require a max of two weeks out of work, up to 6 weeks in a sling, and 4 – 6 month of rehab.
At this point the only good news that I can see is the time out of work. I could use a break! But not sure what good it would do be being in a sling.
So I chose to go w/ option # 2. The needle was a lot bigger than the doctor described. I knew that I shouldn’t have looked! But, it wasn’t that painful. I was pleasantly surprised. Hopefully it will help is the inflammation and allow for more mobility. I have a follow up appointment in 6 weeks. Until then I will enjoy my freedom from a sling.
Doctor’s advice: to continue rehabbing my shoulder w/ no over the head lifts and light weights. This will not heal the tears but it might help w/ the inflammation and ease the pain and discomfort.

Well considering that I have been rehabbing my should for over a year now I would have to agree. But, if they cut and repair the tears there will be more to rehab. So it just might be worth it. I am still undecided.

Sorry to hear that there was not n easy fix. when i had my bck problems they did a sieres of injections. At lest they knocked me out for that. I was told they could only do 3 per year or else it would eliminate surgery to fix it in the future. Check into that to be sure. The shots did help alot though. Hope it all works out.
