Out of Shape Blues
Getting started has been rough. If it isn’t soreness, it’s a runny nose, heart burn, dead batteries, or an episode of House I haven’t seen. I have to work on my ability to concentrate and keep my goals in mind while ignoring temporary things like…fudge brownies.
It’s late (1am EST) and I need to be getting in bed shortly. I didn’t work out today because I woke up barely able to walk (delayed onset soreness but it isn’t bothering me as of right this moment). So I’ll be pushing it an extra 20-30 minutes tomorrow since I have skipped 2 days.
I am not worrying about doing too much strength training right now since my endurance level is in the gutter and my cardiovascular system needs get brought back up to speed.
Ok time for sleep…I am going to FORCE myself to wake up early tomorrow so I get tired at a decent hour.

"Pain is weakness leaving the body."
When you’re stiff and sore, AT LEAST stretch and walk it off the next day if you feel you can’t do anything more. Trust me, your muscles will feel so my better. Working it out at a lower intensity is a big help. Don’t let the soreness be an excuse.
Try to keep in mind that what is difficult right now will be easy in a few short weeks if you keep at it!
Good luck & stick with it!
