Just getting into the swing….

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I must say that this week is better than last week. I’m still struggling on my diet, but I’m getting better. I ended up cheating today when i was tempted by some chocolate chip cookies. I think that I might be able to get it under control. I just need to keep my eye on the prize and focus on my goal. I’m hoping to just get better every week. My big accomplishment this week was waking up at 4:15am every morning and getting in my first hour of cardio completed before heading to the nursing unit and working a 12-13 hour shift (still managing to get in at least 7-8 hrs or sleep= new bedtime 9pm)

NEW GOAL:

****NO CHEATING ON MY DIET FOR TWO WEEKS****

Fresh Start

Monday, April 13th, 2009

I realized that i wasn’t following through with my diet and that I was rushing my body to change. What i need to do is refocus, so I have moved my first competition back July 10th. My mother is a registered dietitian and I’m hoping to use her as much as possible. A couple of things that I plan to do slightly different:

1. log my weight weekly no  matter what!!!!

2. weekly photos

3. weekly blog updates

Staying on Track

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

I’m a little over 2 weeks in and feel great. I’m losing the weight and have a ton of energy. I’m logging my daily intake on  thedailyplate.com. I’m really excited. I’m eating healthier and cooking all of my meals, but I’m not eating clean yet. I’m waiting until I hit the 12 weeks out mark to make that transition. I’m easing into it rather then just jumping in. This makes the transition a lot easier. I’m still training with my team twice a week and I’m getting in my hour of cardio in daily.

Getting into gear

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Today was a good workout day. I didn’t workout with the fitness team today because we just had a beginning of the year meeting to discuss our personal and team goals.

My workout consisted of:

60min spin

lunges to step up 3 sets 15reps each leg 30lbs

Abs

smith machine squats 3 set3 15

leg deadlift with 10lb dumb bells 3 sets 15 each leg

modified leg curls ( concentration of the glutes)  30lbs 3 sets 20 reps

The problem is my eating hopefully I can get it straight. I think I’m getting better each day. Last Friday I did my first weigh i and measurements. Hopefully I’ll drop those first two pounds when I step on the scale for my next weigh-in on Saturday.
