3 Day Fruit Plan

August 21, 2008

Day 1 was five protein shakes two hours apart and dinner was a raw vegetable salad (romaine lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers) with 3 oz of plain baked chicken, and a tsp of olive oil.   On  Days 2 & 3 I had my choice of fruit for the first five meals (again two hours apart) and then dinner was the same dang raw vegetable salad with chicken and olive oil.  I lost 4 pounds!!  It was really the jump start I needed.  I was only hungry the first day and didn’t like the plain salads at night but it was worth it. I feel thinner and am motivated to stick to my nutritional strategy.  It’s on now!

Making Choices

August 7, 2008

So I started at 115 lbs with a goal of 105 lbs or a better body at whatever weight that happened to be.  I ate right, I worked out as often as I could, and I was seeing results.  I was excited about my progress.  I was down to 109 lbs and I was losing inches in the right spots.  My husband and I were on the same nutritional strategy (he got to eat more chicken of course).  Then a Red Robin opened near our house and we had a cheat meal there.  Bottomless fries are of the devil!  Our once a week cheat meals turned into a twice a week endless supply of greasy, starchy, salty, forbidden junk dipped into ranch dressing.  Then my husband decided to do a contest in November and since his diet would get more intense very soon, we had ice cream…lots of ice cream.  In five weeks I am right back where I started:  115 lbs and a thick waist.  (insert scrunched up nose here)  So today is the day to get back on track.  It ticks me off that I was so undisciplined and now I have to start back over when I could be so much better already.  Guess these are the lessons that have to be learned for oneself and it’s time for me to get over it and be sure not to forget how this disappoinment feels.
