The rest of leg day

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

So Here is what I did to finish up:

sissy squat (no weight) 10;12;15;20

Butt lifts (From Tosca Reno’s butt book) 12;12;15;15

Split Jump squat 10;10;10;7

First time I have EVER been able to do those. I usually am fatigued out by the time I get there.

So Diet today was:

#1-Protein shake

#2-1/2 cup oatmeal

#3-whole wheat toast with Natural PB

#4-1 cup of cottage cheese (fat free) and a mandarin orange
#5- 1/2 sleeve of crackers

#6-feista egg scramble on a whole wheat tortilla

#7-protein shake

Tomorrow is biceps day!

So Leg Day. I’ve either really lost strength or something. I couldn’t finish my leg workout this morning! Here’s what I did:

5:45-6:00am
Leg Extension 80lbx10;80lbx12;70lbx12;60lbx15;60lbx20
Leg Curl 50lbx15;50lbx15;40lbx12;40lbx12
Leg Press 180lbx12;170lbx12;160lbx15;15lbx15

Was also supposed to do 4 sets of sissy squats, one-legged deadlift, and Split jump to squat. So I am going to try to get those in later today. Hubby has a meeting tonight, so I’ll probably do it after the kids are in bed. He has been commenting that when he does leg day, he has a hard time finishing because of feeling sick. That is what stopped me this morning. ugh.. feels really gross. I was taking longer to rest in between sets too. Not gonna post diet this morning cause I don’t want to think about food now. Will post later. Everyone have a great day!

The kids have made a turn for the better and then we got dumped with snow last night which made for a COLD morning in the garage today! lol But I got up and did it, so here it is:

6:30-6:50am
Barbell deadlift 80X10; 80×12;70×12;70×15;20×60
Straight-arm lat pulldown 50×12;50×12;40×15;40×15
(that one is difficult to do with 50lb, but the lowest my stack goes is 40, so have to make do until I can increase weight)
Decline dumbbell pullover: 25×15;20×15;15×20;10×20

Meal plan for today has been so far:
#1-Peach almond protein shake, Whole wheat waffle with 1 Tablespoon PB
16oz water, 10oz coffee with 2Tablespoons creamer

#2-chocolate coconut meal replacement bar, 16oz water

#3-Herbed tuna melt on 2 pieces whole wheat bread, 16oz water

The plan for the rest of the day is:

#4-chocolate, PB,banana protein shake

#5-Fiesta egg scramble (4 eggwhites, 1/2 red pepper, 2 green onions on a whole wheat tortilla)

#6-1/2 cup cottage cheese

I am working on getting calorie counts & macro-nutrient info to go along with my meal plans.

I am going to add cardio earlier than I thought. I’m giving 6 weeks instead of 8 to weights only and then add cardio-Kickboxing, running intervals and riding intervals on my bike. Just 3 days a week to start with so I don’t overwhelm myself! lol

Can anybody answer this?

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

So another one of my kids got sick last night. Looks like the flu may be going through my house. fun times. So I jumped rope for a little bit (2 minutes maybe lol) and did some butt lifts (that burned) just to get some movement going. But here is my question:  I did a search to see how many calories (approximately) I am burning when I lift. A calculator on here somewhere said 226 for 30 minutes, which is about how long my lifting takes. I don’t rest more than 30 sec between sets and exercises and sometimes barely 30 sec. Anyway, for 6 sessions (if I get them in) that is 1356 calories a week. So does that mean it will take me 3 weeks to lose 1 lb??? I’m not doing cardio for now, doing 8 weeks of weight training only, then will add cardio. I’m thinking kickboxing, jumping rope, riding my bike and some running to keep things interesting and not get into a rut. Anyway…any help would be great.

Off track

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Okay, off track again. Lost track of days last Thursday-Tuesday, then yesterday evening my oldest started getting a fever and kept me up most of the night complaining of a tummy ache and of course all I’ve been doing today is taking care of her. I went up in weight a couple lbs in the last couple weeks and have been revamping the diet since now my pants are tight. Went grocery shopping and didn’t buy any crap (yea me!) Only bad thing I’ve had is apple pie (not the whole thing though! lol) and some jasmine rice to late in the day. Discovered that instead of journaling, writing down what I need to eat the night before works better for me….like a diet to do list. So tomorrow is John’s day off. That will help in getting back on track. He’s back on nights as of Monday so I am getting up on my own now. Yipee. lol

Doing good!

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

I think downing an XS as soon as I wake up with John in the morning is really helping me stay awake. That and having already made the decision to stay up and not go back to bed, though I am looking forward to Saturday when I can go back to bed because it will be my day off. lol Did biceps today and noticed within 5 minutes of completing it that my biceps were swollen. :-)   I LOVE well defined arms and can’t wait to shed a little fat and see more muscle! lol

Yesterday was crazy! i had my 3 kids, my nephew and a friends daughter (Josie) here all day then when Josie went home I had another 2 kids come over for a couple hours while their mom was at night school. Didn’t get too stressed out, but boy was it noisy! Gave them all hot coco and I had a cup too…with whipped cream. But did pretty well eating besides that and I drank 2 qts of green tea. So that’s it for today!

Week is going good so far :-)

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

wasn’t able to get my workout done on Friday because we had a major wind storm and lost power (at least on out street) until Sunday morning and we lost several branches out of a tree in our backyard so john was busy cleaning that up. Luckily hardly any damage just a small hole in the roof of our garage. But I did get my workout schedule re-started this week. I combined Chest and Back yesterday and then actually stayed up after John left this morning and did my Leg workout. It was really nice to not have that hanging over my head all day trying to figure out when to workout. I’ve also been eating fairly well yesterday and today (after a whole weekend of pizza) and trying to get enough water. Now if I can just get my house cleaning under control as well! lol  ;)

Got it done

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

yeah me! got my workout in!looking forward to a healthy new year!

REALLY going to do it this time

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

About to head out to the garage and get my Triceps & Calves workout in. Little late in starting the new year on the irght track, but oh well. This will put me a couple weeks behind in my ‘perfect plan’. But thats okay, I’m just trying to be consistent. Changing that will be a HUGE step for me!
John got me Tosca Reno’s Clean Eating Cookbook for Christmas so I am looking forward to incorporating many cleaner foods into our diets! lol Happy new year to everyone!
