I went back to bed this morning after John left for work. My throat felt like it was on fire! Plan was to get up at 6am and run intervals. John called at 6 and I was getting up, but then reset my alarm for 6:30 and tried to catch a few more zzz’s. But I forgot to turn the alarm on! Woke up about 6:50 and got up. tried running intervals, but by then my nose had started running so it was hard to breathe and run, so I quit and took a shower. At the time, I thought John would be home early (5pm instead of 7pm) So i figured I’d lift when he got home (he’s helping my put a new routine together). Well we both forgot he has a staff meeting this evening so he probably won’t be home until 8pm. Anyway, gonna figure something out.
We were talking about our goals last night and how flaky I’ve been and why that might be. So my new goal is to lean out. At this point (and it could just be because I’m sick and PMSing) I really don’t care if I can do a USMC PFT. I just want to be consistent for once and see some change in my body! I want to not be concerned with the number on the scale, but focus more on my BF% than my weight. So anyways, I’m dong some re-evaluating and am going to change my workouts accordingly. On a nutrition standpoint, I’m doing better than I ever have before. Anyway, enough ranting/complaining for now. gotta go drink another protein shake and get the kiddies some banana chips.

didn’t do intervals last night. Once again had my nephew and he spent the night. But i did get up this morning and do a power walk on the treadmill….for 15 minutes. at least it is something, I guess. Planning on a more powerful workout in the AM. John has an overtime day shift tomorrow so I will be up at 4am, so I may as well workout right? I’m going to plan it out this evening. I’m toying with a few different ideas, so we’ll see which one I am up for in the morning. I already decided I am going to do legs again this week since monday was so light. My hams are slightly sore, so I know I did something. I have a sore throat, so am trying to power through it and not let it become an excuse for not working out. Still gonna get up and workout, but then not do more than I have to later in the day.
Anyway, aside from a marshmellow pig out last night, I did good on my cleaner eating. I ate about 10 marshmellows along with a double hot chocolate. Anyway, my turkey salad was gross. All I had was Itailain dressing which just doesn’t go with turkey. Anyway, doing okay today. Had a grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch. Wasn’t the wisest choice, but I’m going to learn from it and move on. I did have a can of tuna with it. Thats it so far for today. Tune in tomorrow for an update! lol

I got up at 6am and did legs. It was a light workout, I used our Olympic bar (by its self) and did front barbell squats, deadlifts, calf raises and some ab stuff. I have from problems which is why I went light. The thought of having to go out to the garage one way or another helped. So I just got up and did it. Gonna do intervals later this evening. Also try to stay really hydrated and eat clean~ tuna out of the can (which is actually yummy) a couple protein shakes, almonds & an apple, and turkey salad are on my nutrition plan for today. Wish me luck!

I guess thanksgiving dinner didn’t derail me as much as I thought it had. My weight is the same(157) and my BF% is down to 33%. I’m pretty happy with that. Maybe the sledding yesterday helped. That is more work than I remembered. Climbing up hills, but them also sometimes carrying kids who weigh minimum 35lbs. But it was fun and we are looking forward to doing it again soon. Anyway, my hubby came home with something to help me get my workouts done. Since our gym (that I use, he uses the one at work) is in the garage and it isn’t heated, he got me a timer to put on the space heater I have out there. Wasn’t terribly romantic, but I thought it was sweet he did that. He said we’ve both been more cranky and lazy (translate boring) the last 6-10 weeks, so he thought that might help motivate me. And it will, because I’ll have to go turn it off if I’m not going to workout and if I go out there to turn it off, I may as well workout, right? lol So that is going to help. So maybe my goal will be attainable. I figured if I lost 3.5 lbs over the next 4 weeks, I’d meet my short term goal. We’ll see about the USMC PFT. Since I haven’t been working out hardly at all, I have lost ground that I will need to regain. So I’ll work hard and see where it leaves me come the 22nd of Dec.

Thanksgiving dinner kind of ran me off course! AHH But I realized it BEFORE eating all the leftovers and am going to toss the rest out….except for the turkey and salad my sis-in-law made (can anybody say turkey salad?). Are cranberries bad or good?? Out goes the stuffing, real cream, cheese sauce, and all the other yummy gross food. I made sure this year I sent as much home with my mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sis-in-law’s family as I possibly could. My sis was at work so I took her a bunch of food & desert. I don’t want it in my house and my hubby won’t eat what is left. He’s not much of a turkey person, so he’ll eat it on thanksgiving but that is it. Anyway, I going to make Christmas dinner a little healthier if I can without making it too weird. And make sure I have more plastic containers to send food home with everybody! lol My dad made a pumpkin roll especailly for me. My hubby’s family is lactose intolerant so they didn’t have any because it has cream cheese. I took 1/3 of it to my sister and then gave some to my kids (2 out of 3 liked it) and then…..oh this is bad….ate the rest. NOT in one sitting mind you, but still, thats gross!! I couldn’t believe I did that. I have to return to clean eating! I can’t do this again. I worked hard on my diet the last month and lost 3 or 4 lbs (I fit into my snowboarding pants better than ever)! My goal was to lose 15 lbs by dec. 22 and I think that might be a little bit tough to accomplish. I weigh in tomorrow, so I’ll see then if there was much damage done.
Okay enough ranting and raving. Gonna get back in the groove. We went sledding today. That was loads of fun!! My sis and her son went too. I’m looking forward to many more trips up the mountain to sled. The kids had a blast. The hill was perfect practice for snowboarding too. John did so good. Me on the other hand, not so much. I didn’t get low enough when I was going down and wrecked both times I went down. The snow was only about a foot deep and I hit my left calf on a couple rocks. It’s a little sore and tight, but no bruising so far. So I am not going to run for a few days, but will walk on the treadmill and resume doing weights on Monday. Also I am going to try to figure out my time management problem and figure out a good consistent time to work out. updates to follow soon!

So I had an extra kid today. My mother normally watches my nephew for my sister who works swing/graveyard. My parents aren’t feeling well (health issues and colds) so I offered to watch him. I had him over night last night and he’s staying overnight tonight, not that I mind, but life is a little harder with 2 3yr olds than it is with 1 3yr old. So needless to say, I haven’t worked out yet today, BUT on the good side, I have watched what i ate and I actually fixed dinner. Haven’t done that in awhile. So its a toss up. After they all FINALLY go to bed, I am going to do Trish Stratus’ block workout from her website so I at least get soemthing in today. Better luck tomorrow I guess!

So i weighed in today and did BF%. Was very happy that my weight has not gone up any, din’t go down either, but I’m okay with that as long as it doesn’t go up! lol I haven’t been as dedicated as I could have been with food or working out so I’m glad my weight maintained. My BF% on the other hand is at 35% which is up 2%, but I wasn’t very hydrated so I’m not too worried about it. Looking forward to a great week!

I ran a mile today. in 15 minutes. Yeah that number needs to come down. And once again it is Sturday and I don’t have much to show for the week. Running today and the boot camp workout Tuesday (?). My hubby says I’m not going to be able to weight train and run 3 miles in 31 minutes, or less. I’d love to be able to prove him wrong, but he’s the one who was a runner, not me. But I still want to lift. I think life will be back to normal this week, so I am going to put even more effort into making the time to workout and trying to fix and eat better meals. So, once again, here I go to try to accomplish my goal.

…worked out! Yea me! I did a 20 minute boot camp style routine I got from the current Muscle & Fitness Hers. What is funny is my 6 yr old was doing it with me and kept up pretty well, aside from obvious form issues, which I corrected. My 3 yr old and my 3 yr old nephew were also trying to follow me. It was cute.
I have tried to refrain from saying anyhting like ‘I’m fat’ or ‘I need to lose weight’ n front of my kids and instead give them the example of exercising to be healthy. It’s hard to remember sometimes that they’re around especailly when I am feeling bad about myself. I have to be careful though cause they pick up on EVERYTHING. Here’s an example: my 4yrold LOVES to draw and a couple times has helped herself to the cardstock instead of the printer paper. When we figured that out we’ve told her to use the printer paper because it is not as expensve. So yesterday she asked for more paper and I asked her what the rule about coloring was (meaning something about putting the markers away) and she said "Not to use the expensive paper". I was surprised she kne what I was talking about. So anyways, i have to be careful.
I was really happy to get a workout in last night. It wasn’t really what i wanted to do, but it got me moving and was fun. But I think if I do it again I’ll do it twice in a row to increase the calories I burn. This week has been crazy because I am watching a friend’s 20 month old daughter. I forgot how busy that age is! lol so I’ve been trying to squeeze in my workouts, but the day seems to keep getting away from me. After she leaves (around 3pm) I’m going to do my leg workout and hopefully get a run/jog in afterwards. okay so enough babbling, got to go ‘git’r done’

…has got to stop. I have a plan, but am working on the self discipline to follow through on it. I’m watching a friend’s kid this week so I am having to rearrange when I work out. Put on some pants today that normally fit me, but they are TIGHT! That sucks! since I didn’t get a workout in this morning, I am going to do it after my kiddies are in bed tonight then also run on the treadmill for 30 minutes (I’m crossing my fingers!) Really want to make a change by Christmas. My friend is flying up from Texas and I don’t want to look the same as I did at her wedding almost a year ago! I hate that. Anyways, still trying to get down enough water and get in the right foods in the right amounts. Kinda wish I had the $$ to hire a nutritionist, but I don’t so I’m figuring it out on my own. Here’s to tomorrow not being the same story as tody!
