I ran my 5k this morning. It went pretty well, with my friend and I completing it in 37:19. That’s actually better than I was running at home on the treadmill. We did walk a little bit of it, but not much. The area had some hills, which I had forgotten and we were in a higher elevation (which John says makes a difference). So now the goal is to bring my time time down to between 21-31 minutes by Dec.22. I think I can do it if I really apply myself.
Monday I’m starting a new weight program it is 3 months long and was featured in Muscle & Fitness in the last few months, Get Ripped for New Years or something like that. I’m excited about it. Also been doing better with nutrition. I’ve been craving more clean foods and a lot of strawberry protein shakes! lol
So that’s my quick update! More later, when I’m FINALLY finished painting in my house…..at least for the time being! lol

Today I ran approximately 2 miles (first time running since last Monday) outside. Big change from the treadmill, but with the race about 10 days out, I want to log as many road miles as possible. Did some bodyweight exercises, but that was it. I did eat 3 meals so far (need to go get another protein shake ASAP). Had 1 cup cottage cheese & 3 slices of fresh pineapple for breakfast, protein shake after my run, then some leftover hambuerger helper and another 3 slices of pinapple for lunch. Then we ALL took a nap. (My youngest woke up with a fever & vomiting around 1am, so most of the night was spnt taking care of her) The hamburger helper was bad, I know, but much better than the tons of chocolate I have been eating. And it wasn’t very much. I am still trying to work on eating clean and figuring out daily menus, but with the kids and John’s long hours, it is taking longer than I want. So, off to have my shake, then figure out dinner. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I didn’t accomplish much last week at all. I was doing good until we ripped the carpet out in the living room, then my knees started hurting everyday and I was just plain tired. Over the weekend we had a b-day party for a friend here and John started back on days. Late night, early morning. Not that I got up with him, poor guy. It’ll be really long day for him. Anyway, thats when it went down hill last week. Going to try to do better this week. The seans are changing and I am frustrated that some of my clothes are too snug, so I really got to buckle down and do this thing! I know I’ve said it before. I figure I just have to reset my goals if I don’t meet them. So that is my plan. I DID clean out my cupboard of food we don’t eat. I’m going to look on bodybuilding.com for what a good amount of calories & the macronutrients I should eat. John and I differ in our opinions of what is or isn’t enough for me to eat, so I need to find out what is good. Basically my goals for last week are the same for this week. I’ll keep everybody posted on my progress. Since I didn’t do measurements or pics the beginning of the month, I’m just gonna wait until Oct. So thats it for now!

Well, so far this week I have done 3 days of my weights and ran 1 day for 3 miles. Last night, I got home to find my husband starting to tear out the carpet in our living room & dining room. So I completely forgot about running and helped him tear that out and pull down some paneling that was on one wall in the living room. It was covering the plaster, which is in not too bad shape, but not good either. Anyways, we worked until 2 am then slept in this morning and I didn’t work out all day because of cleaning & grocery shopping. So plan is to do biceps & back in the am & run in the evening. And drink LOTS of water.

Well, I had a good restful weekend. My hubby is getting into the habit of planning his week out every Sunday and asked me to try it also so we are being proactive and not reactive in our day to day lives. So my goals for this week are the following:
- run 3+ miles every evening Monday-Thursday
- run 3.5 miles on Friday morning
- lift Monday-Thursday mornings doing the superset workout I’ve been doing
- do a full body workout I mentioned a couple blogs ago on Saturday morning
- Be aware of what I am eating and make a more conscience effort to eat good.
- Drink 4L of water a day
- Take my vitamins daily
I am very excited to start this week! I am starting the 3rd week of the superset program and it feels so good to almost be done. I’m going to do it twice, but being close to the 4 week mark is awesome since I’ve never completed a 4-6 week workout program before.
So those are my goals for the week. Excited to see where this week goes and I just hope I didn’t heap too much on myself and end up stressing out over it.

Okay, i did it. After we got school done (finally!), I headed out to the garage and did my shoulder workout I had missed Wednesday and my full body workout (from Oxygen 1/2006 ,Heavy Traffic) omitting the shoulder stuff since I had just done it. I feel so good!! Exhausted, but really good! I have finally closely completed my goals for this week. The only thing I missed was a run on Tuesday and Thursday. But that is okay. It’s a work in progress! lol So the same for next week, except doing cardio before bed and weights in the early am.
My biggest deal with the whole when to workout thing is I want to take a shower right after a work out. I don’t want to be stinky until after my next workout. But this way, I can shower and be ready for the day before the girls are up and then take a quick bath after running to have some quiet time! Alright, so now I am off to shower and get ready for Friday night!! Woohoo! Have a great weekend everybody!!

I ran today, outside. Running the streets is so much harder than on the treadmill! lol Well, I made it even harder by taking my 3 yr old in the jogging stroller. Not doing that again! lol But I ran Wednesday night 3.25 miles before going to bed. Didn’t do my shoulder workout, but oh well. I’m taking a break from school righ tnow, then when I’m done will go do my full body strength workout. Should’ve done that before running, but I knew it was going to get hot outside. Anyway, next week I am going to try a lot harder at being more disciplined in getting this stuff done. But I have discovered that running in the evening and lifting in the morning works better for my schedule. I have played with running then doing strength or vice versa, right after one another and I just do not have the energy! Part of it is my strength workouts are supersets so they really take a lot out of me. So that is my update. I still need to put up measurements & pictures, so maybe that can happen tonight, since John needs to do the same thing and he doesn’t work tonight.

So I didn’t run last night. I got ditracted organizing my kids toys after they went to bed. Their room was trashed, which ticked me off, Our house is small, so every little bit of clutter makes it seem even smaller. Anyway, so I got sidetracked with that until midnight. Then turned the alarm off this morning when it went off. So plan is (and this will probably change, lol) School with the oldest and middle kid all morning, lunch, naps for the youngest, run for me then shoulder workout. I’m going to try covering up the time & milage like I said in my last blog. Tomorrow is my off day from strength before doing a full body Strength session on Friday afternoon. Then Saturday completely off. That always feels werid not to workout. Anyway, thats the plan. Will update tonight with how I did accomplishing it and how my eating was.

Today was arm day. Slept like crap last night, so I didn’t get up when I wanted to, so I had to do it with the kids with me. Surprisingly they were VERY good and stayed in a corner and colored. They really wanted to work out with me, but all I would let them use are the exercise bands I got from my sis-in-law. Anyway, So I got in a quality workout, but didn’t have time for a run this afternoon so I had to push it back until this evening when the kids are in bed. My plan is to cover up the milage and time counters, but leave the speed uncovered. Then I am going to set up a timer back behind me for 45 minutes and see where I am at when it goes off. i’ve been doing 14-15 minute miles ( I want to cut that in half by the end of the year) So I should be able to do 3 miles in 45 minutes. It’d be awesome if I went longer!
I ate pretty well today I think. Working on my 3rd Liter of water, probably do 4L after running. Had 1/2(half scoop with 4 oz milk) prtein shake before & a full one (full scoop whey protein with 8 oz milk)after lifting. After I also had 1 cup of 9 grain cereal (similar consistency to Zoom). Had 3 cups of coffee with creamer this morning. Umm had a turkey sandwich and light yogurt for lunch. And had a turkey burger with cheese, mustard and a little ketchup & lettuce, along with 1 cup cantalope and 1/2 cup mac & cheese. And before I go to bed I’m gonna have 1 cup cottage cheese and some pineapple. And 4L water like I said above. Ya know looking at this, I’m not sure I ate enough. I wasn’t hungry except for right before dinner. i don’t know! Maybe I should try keeping track of calories too?

Instead of a 2 mile run I pushed myself and ran 2.25 miles! Yea me! So excited I did that. I almost stopped after 1.19 miles, but gave myself a kick in the booty and just did it. How else am I supposed to get to where i want to be? Anyway, just wanted to update that cause I was happy about it.
