Yea me!!

I did arms today & ran for 1.80 miles! yea me!! I was so excited and afterward I knew I should’ve pushed for 2 miles, but oh well. Tomorrow I’ll do it.  I was talking to my husband today (he used to be a cross country runner in high school) about my running and he made a few suggestions to make it easier, #1-work on legthening my stride, #2-2 times a week run 6 miles to help decrease my 3mile time. Right now I’m running a 14 minute mile and my goal is 7-9 minutes. So I will be trying this in the next few months (since my goal completion date in Dec. 22). My race coming up is just to complete 3 miles. Which, after today I am confident that will happen. I still need to push myself with my weight training. Still working on that. Still devoted to this superset workout I’m trying.

Abdominal Pain

I haven’t worked out since Tuesday when I ran 1.5 miles and did a chest superset workout. Later that night I started having SEVERE pain in my abdomin so ended up in the ER. They couldn’t really tell me much, which is frustrating. It felt like gallstones, but I had my gallbaldder removed in 2003. Apparently though, your bile duct can still (rarely) make gallstones. Anyway, since then, I’ve just felt…off. I don’t know how better to describe it. tired, slightly nauseous. Not fun. Today I just decided to push through it and get my goals accomplished. Obviously, if my body won’t cooperate, I can’t. But I am going to try my best. So in the morning I am planning on doing a biceps/triceps superset workout then running for as long as I can, hopefully 1.5 to 1.75 miles but we’ll see how I do. Saturday I do new pictures & measurements, so I’m looking forward to that. Until then…Have a great night everybody!

Playing at the park

So I didn’t do my strength this morning. :-(   But oh well, I am going to move on to week 2 in the morning no matter what.

I took my kids, my nephew, & my mom to the park this evening. There was no one else there, which was nice. So of course my kids wanted me to play with them on the equipment, which I did for the first time in FOREVER!! And I had so much fun! Then I chanllenged my 4 yr old to a race and then the rest of the kids wanted to get in on it! So we ran around the park a several times. It felt great and really motivated me to keep going on my journey to a healthy life so I can REALLY be a good example to them!

So in the morning is Chest & Back then a run on the treadmill. I’m excited, though I know I won’t be come 5am! lol Oh well, small sacrifice to look awesome!

End of week

So today is saurday. i had my distance run yesterday morning and it did not go well. We were supposed to  run 2 miles. we were trying for just 1 mile, but only made it 2 1/2 laps around the track. We both hit a wall this past week and were both having a really hard time even running 1 mile on our own. It was really a bummer, but we’ll just move on and act as if this coming week was last week and retry our goals for yesterday, next friday. (hopefully that made sense!)

I am moving on to week 2 of the superset program (finally!) on Tuesday. Monday I will complete the last day of week 1 (biceps & back). Luckily this is a 4 day program so by Friday I will be caught up. So the first week of Sept. I will be doing week 3.

My weight has been pretty much the same. I will weigh & do bf% tomorrow and post it and try to do that every Sunday along with measurements on the first of every month. So goals are going oka aside from the wall i hit. I have heard that the week before a woman has her period there can be decreased strength & energy and I certainly felt it! lol Anyone else herad that?

Update

I’m going to take the advice given me in my last blog and do my strength training first, then my cardio. I’m also going to take my hubby’s advice and not give up too soon on my superset workout. :-) I have a tendency to try something for a week or 2 and then move on to something else. So I am going to stick it out for 3 more weeks (minimum). I’d really like to do 2 rounds of it. So we’ll see how it goes.

I took my measurements tonight and they changed a little. I think it is just my waist & maybe my hips that I lost inches from everything else stayed the same. I’m going to try to be better about keeping track and do measurements, weight & bf% on the first of every month. That way I know I won’t be bloated or anything.

I ran today for a mile. My nose is stuffed up and I couldn’t seem to push past that mile. So I am trying again for 1.5 miles in the AM and will be doing 2miles on Friday. So things are looking good. Have a great night guys!

Need Advice

Monday, August 20th, 2007

We went out of town this past weekend, kind of spur of the moment. My hubby wanted a diesal car for a commuter car. So he had found one for a reasonable price about 4 hrs away in Idaho. It was fun, but I didn’t get my run in yesterday and i missed it! I’m still struggling with my cold & doing strength training. I slept in until7:30 this morning, and John’s been gone all morning, so it probably won’t get done today. :-(   how does everybody else do it? I don’t have a workout buddy (or spotter), which is a bummer cause it helps so much to push myself because then I know I can lift more with out being afraid of hurting myself. I’ve come very close to dropping weight on my face doing decline presses. Not fun.

Anyway, Just rambling here…Anyone with advice? I know in order to actually do strength (which I think I am going to do a 5 day a week/ different body part everyday program), I have to get up before the girl’s (4:30am-5:00am)  and do it then, so should i wait to run until a few hours later or in the afternoon or in the evening? Thanks guys!

Tonight I’m going to run 1.5-1.75 miles after the girl’s are in bed.

Distance run today

So today we were supposed to run 1.5 miles. Well my friend clocked the milage running on the street instead of at the track. I was having a hard time I thought it was because my nose is stuffed up. After we were done we discovered it was because the route she clocked ended up being 2.1 miles! We only walked a little of ot, so we were doing good. We are goingto increase our distance by .25/mile each time we run (3-4x/wk). We’ll see how it goes.

Yesterday I did shoulders & traps. I’m not too sore today & it felt a little easy. I’ll increase the weight next time and push myself a little more. Today in biceps and back. My hubby had to leave as soon as I got back from my run to pick an engine up 3hrs away, so am not sure when I will get that in. Maybe at nap time. :-) He took our oldest with him, which will be fun for her. Anyway, got to get on with my day! Have a great weekend y’all!

YEA!!!

So I finally did it! I got up at 5am this morning and went and lifted! I’m so happy! Now I need to get in my cardio (intervals) and I’m good. When my hubby called me this morning all I could think was I was tired and wanted to go back to bed, but that is not the way to get an awesome body so I ‘kicked’ myself out of bed and just did it! And it was worth it! So I’m off to do intervals & then get on with my day!

So it’s another Monday here in OR and While I did run for 15 minutes, I didn’t get my weight lifting in today. BUT tomorrow is another day so I will just ‘catch up’ tomorrow. Not going to beat myself up up about it. I’m not making excuses, just telling why I didn’t lift. :-)   For some reason, 2 of my kids woke up repeatedly last night needing to go potty. By repeatedly, I mean more than 3 times each. I guess I let them drink too much water right before bed! So when John called me this morning at 5am, I didn’t get up. Amazingly they all came in around 6am or a little after. But I maintained a positive attitude and made it throught the day and I think they actually had a fun day.

 So the workout for the AM is legs! Yea! Then sometime later I will be doing intervals on the treadmill, though it will depend on how dead my legs are for what kind of intervals (run/jog or run/walk) I end up doing! lol So on that note, off I go to do dishes and go to bed! WooHoo in bed before 10pm!

New Week

Starting a new week. Lifted this afternoon working chest & triceps. My arms felt like noodles afterward and again I couldn’t do the very last exercise-close grip push-ups. Getting ready to do my interval run , just waiting for kidies to stop messing around and go to sleep. Still working on getting the nutrition part mastered. REALLY need to clean out my cupboards and somehow organize them and only stock them with the essentials for eating clean. Had a good day looking forward to tomorrow’s workout of legs ;-)

Really glad I’m finally making more of an effort to do this instead of just dreaming about and not taking action. So many people I know aren’t happy with how the look & feel, but ‘hate’ to exercise. I like it to a point, but I also know that for the body I want and to be healthy I have to make the sacrifce of doing something that isn’t as fun as, say, shopping to achieve that. Besides, who wants to go shopping and have nothing look good?? Not me!! I haven’t really gone shopping in 3 years because I don’t want to buy a bunch of clothes that I don’t intend to wear for a long time and I refuse to stay a size 15 for the rest of my life!! Especailly during the summer it is so hot & uncomfotable and all the clothes are tight. Has not been fun in the mornings trying to figure out what to wear and most of my clothes feel uncomfortable.

So After that mini rant, I’m going to go check on the kiddies and then go run. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
