I did do my lifting workout this afternoon. Yea me!! It’s been probably 3 weeks since the last time I lifted. I don’t like that! I like how I feel when I am lifting. It is a great stress reliever! Especially if I can listen to my music loud and focus on what muscles I am working.
I do miss working out with John though. Of the 2 other people I’ve lifted with, he’s the best spotter & workout partner. He really gets what it takes to gain muscle and to really push yourself. With his schedule right now, it doesn’t work for us to workout together right now. Hoping we can soon though.
Anyway, feeling really great about today. Ate pretty well, recorded everything. Looking forward to tomorrow! I think I am doing legs and abs. Should be interesting.

I jogged on the treadmill this morning, working up to doing the 3miles. Found a good pace. Going to lift this afternoon. I was going to lift this morning, but the i knew there was no way I could concentrate like I needed to on the mind-muscle connection. So I opted for the tradmill instead. I love that thing, even though it is really old. Anyway, finally took some progress pctures last night. I was not happy with what I saw. I saw a little bit of progress, but not what I had hoped for at all. So, once again, I have recommited to eating clean and getting in my daily workouts. My goals for this week are 4 lifting sessions & a minimum of 5 days of cardio. I already have done 3 days of cardio and have a 1 mile run scheduled for Saturday. So there it is. Not happy with my commitment so far and I am out to change it, not complain about it.

I was checking my myspace and look at some of my friends profiles that I haven’t seen in years. It made me realize that if I saw any of them right now, I wouldn’t feel comfortable with how I look. I’m not really too overweight, but I have gained quite a bit since they last saw me. Anyways, it encouraged me to really kick this in gear. If I see any of my friends, I want to look so much better than they remember! So I am off to log time on the treadmill, then later this evening I’ll go lift. Ya’ll have a great day!

so I’m back from my cousins wedding. It was nice. i went with a couple of friends & my kids. My friends were in a different hotel cause I wasn’t going to go but then at the last minute decided to. Anyways my hubby couldn’t go cause of work so even though there was a fitness room I couldn’t use it.
I’m excited for the next week and to be able to use my treadmill when I need to! I’m also going to resume lifting on Monday, though I am unsure of the time I’m going to do it. I can either lift in the morning and do the treadmill at nap time or in the evening or vice versa. So I’ll try it one way for a few days then the other way a few days and see what works better i guess. I’m excited to see the changes that are bound to accompany the commitment.

Finally! I got a treadmill! A belated b-day present. I am SO excited! Finally a way to train at home, for my goals, whenever I’m able!!! And a way for the doggie to get a daily run no matter what the weather. This takes my home gym to a whole new level. YES! Awesome, awesome, awesome! Now all I need is a baby moniter to be able to hear if the kids wake up while i’m in the garage, lifting. Small thing to get though. ;-P

Well, I haven’t done a whole heck of a lot this week. One 1mile bike ride today. My birthday was yesterday so we went shopping and to Olive Garden (I LOVE it!!). John got me a heart rate monitor for my b-day. It looks really nice and I tried it out today on my ride. I think it will help me quite a bit.
We’ve been trying to streamline our house and our lives in the last week so life has been kind of upside down. We moved our TV into the office from the living room to reduce distractions. I homeschool our oldest daughter, so the less the TV is on, the easier it is. They haven’t missed it at all. I miss the noise a little bit, but am geting used to it.
I decided I’d try setting weekly goals leading up to my big goal and set an actual date when to complete the PFT. I’m still shooting for the 5k race the end of September (I think it is the 29th) and then increasing my time from there so by December 28th (my goal date for completing the PFT), my time will be close (hopefully) to where I want to be. And of course lifting 4x a week while I am doing the superset program (which I am planning on doing for 2 months).
So that is what I’ve been up to. Hope ya’ll have a great day!

I can’t seem to get this lifestyle in gear! I make all the plans, then put it off! I am SOO frustrated with myself. To top it off, my garage/gym is starting to accumulate stuff (we got a new bed and that’s where the old one went plus a few other things), making it hard to move around in and work out. I like having my life ordered and having a daily plan, but of course nothing goes as planned with kids. How do other moms do this? I guess having a gym with datcare helps a lot, but I don’t have that luxury. Nearest gym w/ daycare is 15 miles away but I can’t afford the gas to go everyday! Somehow I have to make this work!!!!!!!! Again it comes down to just doing it and not thinking about doing it. Alright, enough ranting for now, I guess. I know it all comes down to my decision & how serious I am about it. Just gotta figure out a realistic way to make it work with 3 kids.

I just realized that I had no time frame on my goal to complete a USMC PFT. So I made one. I want to at least attempt completing a PFT by the end of this year. That gives me 5 months and 15 days to get ready for it. I can then work on better times if I don’t get the score I want or close to the score I want.
I haven’t really done anything the last couple of days since my bike ride. So instead of getting down on myself, I am just going to go do it…tonight around 7:30. (I love my mom, she is so willing to watch my kids so I can squeeze a workout in if I miss one in the morning!)
Eating has been going okay. It’s that time when it is almost a payday again so I get to plan out our next few weeks of food that we need. I am toying with the idea of completely taking everything out of my cupbaords and filling it up with only what is non-tempting , good for us food. I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to different types of food, but my two oldest kids are kind of picky. I’m willing to try something and so it the littlest one, but if they look at it and it isn’t something they’re used to, they don’t want to eat it. kids..anyway….off to cook a good-for us dinner of grilled chicken, sweet potato(for me & Audrey slices of whole wheat bread for the other two) & broccoli (or asparagus). Yummy yummy!

So I beat the heat yesterday and went for a 4 mile bike ride yesterday evening. It was nice to feel my legs working easily! I did pretty good journaling my food yesterday & making better food choices, not so great choices today. My oldest daughter was in a parade this morning and the other 2 and I watched the parade. It’s been a long time since i’d watched one. Anyway, I forgot that they throw candy and so we were picking some up and I ate SEVERAL pieces on the way home. They were tootsie rolls, which are very addicting for me! But, I had a good tuna lunch to make up for it. So I’ll try not to beat myself up about it and learn from it. Don’t watch a parade..be in it!!lol
Anyway, I was going to get up for my ride with the doggie this morning @ 4am, but we got a new magnetic bed yesterday and I didn’t sleep very well at all! Argh! I don’t know if I’m going to like it or not. It’s REALLY firm, a lot firmer than our old bed. Maybe if I get some foam to go over it…
Temp’s are supposed to go down a little next week so I am going to resume my 5k training and start a new lifting program ( I know, I know, again). It’s the superset routine from April or May Muscle & Fitness. So 4 days a week of that. Now that I’m pretty much back in the habit of writing my food down, I’m going to try to keep track of calories, protein, carbs & fat grams. I’ve been drinking about 100oz of water the past couple of days. Gonna work on keeping that up. That’s it for now, ya’ll have a great weekend!
